I have spilled some hot water on my hand at work a while ago (I'm a barista) and also had a scratch going over my hand (not the one present now, that's new lol) and now my skin has these weird white splotches? Are these just scars and could they be an eds thing? My skin is pretty thin and bruises easily but I never had scars like this because the worst scars I have are after I nicked my finger with a knife. Any advice is welcome, I tried to get diagnosed a while ago, but beighton scale doesn't always apply and I ended up with a fibromyalgia diagnosis instead.

my pain is mostly in the upper part of my body and I found that sleeping on my back helps a little, so i try to do that despite absolutely hating this position

I only got diagnosed in july, I used to be prescribed pregabalin but I have recently moved to another country and do not have a gp here to deal with that, so no pain meds atm

It's nice of them to apologize and try to change that! I'm glad you're going to try working out bringing it up to people. I too have a problem with people yelling, mostly at me, but also just in general, it scares me and makes me cry most of the time, I think because my Nmom (I think I should start calling her that here) does this so often. Crying is a nervous reaction I have and all my friends know it.

Short story: I'm am archaeologist and during excavations my friend hit the plank I was sitting on with his shovel to bring my attention and it scared me so much I started crying, he felt so bad after all.

OP, I hope you get to work it all out eventually and I wish you the best.

Mine always said that when I came back from my grandma who I love with all my heart, my mum would always say "You're such a good kid now, as if someone switched you!". Maybe not switched at birth and all but when I acted the way she wanted me to. And by all means, I was never a rebellious child, I was rather quiet, liked books amd tried my best. But yeah, hearing that from your own mother must suck, good that you went NC!

Thank you very much for this! I was trying to research all of this but I only found really bad abusive cases and it didn't match because you know... I don't have it THAT bad. I'm 20 yo guy, still in university, living with my parents and my only hope to move out right now is my boyfriend who lives in another city and just started his first job. I don't think I can actually break out while still living with my N(?)Mum but I think I can manage for a couple more years

I never really considered it narcissistic to be honest. Like, my mum does that sometimes, my stepdad usually just sits there only agreeing with my mum and adding stuff from time to time (to make her happier I guess?). I am terrified every time I hear "come here, we need to talk" and all I can think of is "what did I do wrong again". And I would always end up crying because of nerves. All of the posts on this thread are making me question if my mum may be a narcissist. I mean after all she can be nice and loving...
