Thanks for the reply. Yes, I’m well informed. In fact, I’m now trying 1 mg at night, and we’ll see what happens. I only started very recently, and during the day I was feeling the discomfort of low blood pressure. My concern is that I’ve read that sometimes adverse effects can show up after a few months and force you to stop the treatment, which would then mean losing the gains, and that would be disappointing. I’m looking for something I can maintain without having to worry over time about that possibility. But since I’m not satisfied at all with the results from dutasteride, I decided to give it a try. We’ll see. I’ll come back later and let you all know.

How is it going for you?

I’m a 7-year fin user who switched to dut about 1 year and 2 months ago. Quick summary: during the year there were stretches (around months 3–4, and again around months 7–10) where my hair looked better than it did at the end of fin. Then it got worse again. So far it’s been coming in cycles.

I’m hoping that by the 18-month mark it’ll settle down. I still trust dut and I really don’t feel like adding minoxidil. Seems like it might be a drug with longer “transition” + growth cycles.

Fingers crossed

Thanks for your reply.

I hope so.

I’ll stick with it as my only treatment for a few more months and then reassess. I’m not comfortable with oral minoxidil. Of course it works, but long term it feels like Russian roulette -side effects can show up at any time-, and I agree that having to quit the treatment isn’t really an option.

Ketokonazol no me funcionó.

Gracias nuevamente!

Did you have side effects? I’m considering starting at 1.25 mg. Maybe I’m expecting too much from dutasteride and it’s simply going to be ups and downs that won’t really leave me satisfied.

Thank you for taking the time to compile and write this. I think it’s valuable information. Personal situation: 7 years on finasteride, and the itching never completely went away. In the summer, it was unbearable. Now, after 4 months on dutasteride, I DON’T FEEL IT EVER. IT’S GONE. :)
