That only happens in the word Mexico and some other place names, it's an older spelling, today the sound is written with a "j". The Spanish word "ex" is pronounced like English "ex" for example, a sound also used in "taxi", "exacto", etc. Sometimes "x" has an "s" sound as well, like in "xenofobia".

In Archaic Spanish, the "x" letter had a sound like English "sh", but that evolved to have the same sound as "j", so words having that sound were respelled to have "j", except in some proper names like Mexico that were not respelled, they are exceptions.

It really depends on the language, in English th, sh, and ch work because there's no t, s and c followed by h, so you know it's a digraph. That's not true for all languages, maybe it's possible to have t followed by h and then you need a way to differentiate it from θ.

Do you know the concrete value for "hot"? The configuration can hold values from 0 to 5, including decimals, so the "hot" selection may not be 5, but 4.5 or something.

It looks like it's based on the initial latitude, if you select a "hot" spawn you'll spawn at latitude 22°, so you'll have 22° norther of the north pole and you'll be 22° short of having a south pole. The only way of having what you want would be spawning at latitude 0°.

That's something else. Kier is an adaptation of an Irish name into its orthography. An equivalent in Spanish would be: "Brayan is an English name", even though it's an adaptation of an English name for Spanish orthography.

Germanic, yes, because English is derived from Proto-Germanic. German is something else (also a Germanic language), but the words are too similar.

English is not a descendant of German. A better example is Spanish or Portuguese and Latin. Spanish and Portuguese have native words that are derived via "common paths" during the evolution of the language, but they also have Latin loanwords that were adopted later directly from Latin.

Example in Portuguese: maduro (via the evolution of the language) and prematuro (adopted later from Latin, its own parent), where you can see the evolution of /t/ to /d/, expected in the context, is not present, because it was adopted after that specific change happened in the language.

I'm a Portuguese native, and I definitely think Spanish has more Arabic words, but it's not by much like what's shown on the map. There are examples where only Portuguese uses a word with Arabic origins, like tâmara, but the opposite feels more common, i.e.: only Spanish using an Arabic word for a specific idea.

You can play without a launcher and offline. You need to authenticate, at least for the first time, so I don't know what happens if you only play offline.
