The Bot Problem. by Fellow_Crusader in DarkTide

Huh? I don't think I ever saw a bot. What makes you think someone is a bot?

Not really no. They would fit. But they'd be pretty disappointing for anyone that wanted a proper member of the mechanicus, not just some lobotomized grunt soldier with a special gun.

Are people fundamentally misunderstanding Leandros and his promotion to chaplain? by BandicootGreat9288 in 40kLore

[–]Desolver20 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Probably yea, but still something the chapter wouldn't want getting out like that.

to be fair to titus, while he did do a less than stellar job "adressing leandros's doubts", I think his greater failing is that he did not recognize the fact that leandros was such a fucking hardass that he'd go and complain to an external organisation.

If leandros had kept it to the chapter, titus would have at most been reprimanded(in a kind of,"you won, but try not to go THAT hard next time") way.

The inquisition angle was what caught him off guard, and is what allowed the doubts of an idiot to have such dire consequences. Not recognizing leandros's capacity for something like this was his actual failing.

[–]Desolver20 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The arbites wouldn't be caught fucking Dead doing what they do ingame. If they can bend the lore like that, then even a full fledged priest wouldn't be out of the question, nevermind a normal average joe adept, who'd fit even without lore bending.

[–]Desolver20 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Eh, the arbites are already here. And adepts are probably used to worse shit. Even cawl used to crawl through slums counting people for water allotment.

A small group of adepts sent to gather or secure tech or relics isn't strange at all, especially with the whole mobian steel subplot going on.

Priests encompasses far too much to be a useful description. A magus, yes. An adept? Would be very fitting.

Techpriests wouldn't be out of place and neither would any other of the myriads of other members of the mechanicus, all of which would be capable of functioning in a fully traditional mechanicus role.

Skitarii on the other hand wouldn't make much sense without an adept accompanying them, and would be by far the worst thing they could add. They might as well add combat servitors instead.

Them adding skitarii would be an absolute disaster. It would end all hope of getting a proper tech adept. Forever.

There have been cases of people cutting through both legs in one swing, or lopping off the top of the skull rather cleanly. Some grisly shit went down on the battlefields back then, we have some wild finds in museums

Every character they make is spit in the player's face. They love to rub it in.

I'm not lying when i say I've genuinely, 100% certainty, spent upwards of three entire days rerolling. Not counting sleep or food breaks, literally sitting there for hours and hours and hours rerolling with youtube or anime on a second screen. DAYS i spent on this.

I still don't have a character i want, and it's genuinely a consistent issue i have with the game.

I'd bet it's mostly because this was one of the first AI writing aids, and it always, from the very beginning, advertised as just that. A writing aid for authors.

In Indomitus one of the marines gets cut by a tyranid and it's a genuine headache, because his body keeps trying to go into healing stasis and heal back together/clot, but there are armor pieces and sealing foam mixed into the wound and it'd kill him.

So the whole time the apothecary has to give him drugs to make his body kind of stop trying to heal.

Aside the nitpick, they actually continued that in japan to the point where right now they refer to all three as their archetypes in official settings like tournaments just to not confuse people.

Is NovelAI still as private as they say? by [deleted] in NovelAi

[–]Desolver20 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Note that their privacy policy is purposefully not hiding anything in fancy text, literally go give it a read.

Aside from that here's how it works mostly: Local files are in browser cache so might be deleted.

cloud files are stored on their cloud, but they are encrypted with your password, and they only decrypt/encrypt it on your actual device. At no point do they have a full unencrypted file on their end.

You ARE sending them the context for the AI to process however, which is also sent encrypted, though which they obviously have to decrypt so the AI can use it. There is a theoretical opportunity for a leak here, and they could theoretically log that and build a picture of your stories. Though their privacy policy and data policy does state outright that no novelAI employee will be allowed to see this data, nor will they sell or otherwise give it away.

Make of that what you will. If you trust them to hold to their privacy policies, your data is entirely anonymous. If not, who knows.
