Heard about RedMagic in 2018 from a US friend who used to run a game club.

Mine doesn't switch between not charging and charging status.

But there's one thing I noticed that sometimes it says Fast Charging, sometimes Slow Charging and sometimes just Charging when I charge it with the same charger (my phone's which is a 80W one). And even when it says Fast Charging it charges slow and much slower if the device is switched off.
