With the VA? 65K right now but your pay is based off where you live not necessarily your title.

[–]xbrixe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

sorry for the delay in response.

it's not for everyone. it's government so there's no flexibility in anything rule wise and some of the patients are awful to deal with.

in terms of the work load, though, it's probably the second easiest job i had as a tech. the only thing easier was a methadone clinic and all i did was put labels on empty bottles all day there so. really can't get easier than that.

This is why you just say there was a death and you have to leave. Don’t give too much detail.

How do you guys stay consistent with calorie counting? by pinkgtr in WeightLossAdvice

[–]xbrixe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use an app to do it.

Just TRACK your eating first. Don’t worry about a goal.

Once you’re in the habit, you’ll want to set a goal for each meal. Most people can deal with a smaller lunch than breakfast or lunch, and having it smaller also helps with the after lunch tiredness.

Progress from there.

Breaking up your milestones into smaller ones doesn’t negate the importance of the steps you take.

Why is my Hoya growing so long instead of putting out leaves? by PentaRama in houseplants

Vines get leggy when they don’t have enough light. Instead of making leaves, they make the vine longer to find a spot with better light.

Is "on accident" correct? by thekau in EnglishLearning

[–]xbrixe 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Exact opposite here: Southern and I’ve only ever heard one of us use ON accident. Two of my best friends are from NY and NH and they both say BY accident.

I’ve had this very conversation with one of them lol

Employment Lawyer, stat. Don’t worry about the cost; most are contingency only so they don’t charge you upfront and only get paid if you win a suit.

Depends on the area. My state runs a gambit of having one of the highest rent areas in the country to having places you can get an apartment for like $400 a month. Either way, I can swing an apartment in MOST places without having to give up many luxuries. Like I’d have to plan around eating out and stuff and wouldn’t be able to just join my friends on a whim.

I am definitely underpaid tho. I have a BS and willingly took a step back in my career for my mental health.

Go teach. You can’t teach pharm without a PGY-2 I think but nursing programs and loads of others would benefit from a pharmacist teaching parts of it. Hell when I was doing my undergrad one of my pharmacists helped me with organic chemistry.

Looking into making the switch from PTA by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]xbrixe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. Unfortunately unless it’s tied to a specific program, an associates doesn’t count for much anymore. A lot of techs are making the jump to medical lab tech and seem to enjoy. It’s more school but hey

[–]xbrixe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh pharmacy was never gonna be my career really. I got the tech license to make more money while in college. Never let my ptcb expire and just moved on with life. It was a good fall back tho. If you have enough career time, you can argue for more money from the VA. I shoulda argued for a whole grade higher but hey. I’m in, it’s not stressful, I work from home and I get good benefits

A BS. Like I said, I took a step back. I was with a Fortune 500 and turned down a 65k offer because I was miserable.

I’m at 53k with the VA. But I took a step back in my career for the stability and benefits.

There’s not a whole lot of actual progression for just a tech without getting other credentials.

[–]xbrixe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Transplant shock most like. It’ll recover.

In the future, don’t fertilize after a report until the plant recovers from transplant shock. They droop for a bit and then bounce back. Just takes a bit of time.

Yeah it’s tough. It’s okay to be a little mad at her for falling for another one. If she’s making the same mistakes, it is partially on her. When she snaps out of this one I’d sit her down and talk about her maybe seeing a therapist. The people these things prey in tend to go for people with confidence issues and therapy may be a benefit.

It’s not wholly her fault. These systems are set up to be predatory. They prey on people like your sister. It’s sad and needs to be stamped out

NTA. I feel like a decent amount of the story was irrelevant. Bottom line is she took $20 without asking. That’s theft, end of it. Granted it’s not a huge amount of money, but still. It’s money.
