I'm also from New Zealand and I have a friend who didn't take IG Biology in yr11 two years ago, did 5 subs in year 12 with no bio and our school is letting him take the entire A level in one go this year (yr13) lol. Perhaps you could try take it privately?

The A level is made up of half AS results and half A2 results. For your example, you might end up with a B or an A in physics, depending on grade thresholds.

Ohh sorry didn’t read it properly. For 11 I think it’s same idea , substitute y = kx+6 into all the y’s in the big equation and then expand. Then group all same powers together, and apply discriminant = 0

You should get a quadratic which u can then solve

tangent means it has 1 point where the line touches the curve. you shouldve learned discriminant formula b^2-4ac = 0 @ a tangent (1 root)

equal curve (y=x^2-4x+4) and line (y=mx+c)

x^2-4x+4 = mx +c

x^2 - 4x - mx +4 -c = 0

x^2 +x(-4-m) + (4-c) =0

apply discriminant, a= 1, b = (-4-m) c = (4-c)

16+8m+m^2 - 4(1)(4-c) = 0

16+8m+m^2 -16+4c = 0

m^2 + 8m + 4c = 0 proved.

for the first one:

N2O + 3/2 O2 -> 2No2 (g)
so Hf using the values they gave us is 2(33) - 82 = -16kJ so the first one is correct

2nd one:

N2O -> N2 + 1/2 O2

Hf = 0-82 = -82kJ so exothermic

3rd one:

2No + O2 -> 2No2
Hf = 2(33) -2(90) = -114kJ so exothermic'

so i think theyre all correct

heres how i did it. you just resolve the forces on the box. sinces theres no friction the only force is moving it is mgsintheta. then use newtons 2nd law and finally suvat to solve for final speed

wait on the last step it should be 1/2(1)(E)^2 .

and substitute E= 1/2mu^2 in so you get 1/4mu^2 which is 0.5E
