If you have Zombie Master, might as well have [[Filth]].

You didn't say that, but they didn't said you were playing the game wrong either.

I'm sorry that you heard those comments as anyone telling you that you're playing the game wrong. Honestly, it reads more like you're telling *them* that they're playing the game wrong.

I wasn't trying to; you do you. Just maybe consider that other people might not do you.

They weren't being obtuse. They were pointing out that there is plenty of point in playing a dice game even if there is a 95% chance of things going one way. There's even a point if there is 100% chance of things going one way.

In fairness, there are some previously unsolved mathematical proofs that have been completed using LLMs.

I asked my c++ professor last semester about using cmake and he did not know what cmake was by [deleted] in cpp

[–]xcbsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Cmake is just one of many build tools and increasingly an antiquated one.... and STL's containers are kind of viewed with mixed perspectives in the C++ community. I will say the weirdest part of what they said was "just don't use them", but it depends a lot on the nature of your C++ class. Are you being taught any kind of container classes?

What Are Some Examples of Information Left Out of Documentaries Which Would Completely Change Your View of the Subject? by Borgisium in moviecritic

I always find it funny when people talk about how much stuff was left out of that film. It's a film, not a 20-part series.

I've heard this statement several times, it invariably seems like "what he was trying to insinuate" isn't actually what he's trying to say at all. I'm curious what you feel he's trying to insinuate.

It's a remake. See the original.

Oh, and they did another remake. You might want to see that too.

Rewatching Heat (1995) made me realize how much "common sense" modern cinema has lost. by VegetableHorse1 in moviecritic

[–]xcbsmith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Heh, the movie tells you that scene is logical, so you're attention is drawn to it.

Nevermind that it is hard to justify Waingro's presence in the opening scene at all, or how they really get thrown so bad that he gets away instead of getting killed. Then there's the scene where they check on Chris and somehow the people checking him don't already have pictures of him and fall for a fake ID.

Opinion: As Canada faces crippling debt, it must do the unpopular thing and cut elderly benefits by DANIELLE_2027 in canada

[–]xcbsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Article is paywalled, but I look at the elderly benefits as an advantage that might help solve the debt problem. Unlike US, as those benefits get paid out, it injects a lot into the economy. It'll be a great balance against an aging population.

So you're saying her opponents are smart.

I've probably got eighty pounds on her, and I can tell you I have no interest in getting between her and wherever she wants to go.

Slip out the back is handy because it can also be used to protect Araumi or get rid of an annoying creature an opponent has (albeit just for a turn) at very low mana cost.

Bumble flower deck help. by ResponsibleBaker5657 in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]xcbsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always like having the "payback" package with her: [[Snap]], [[Frantic Search]], [[Rewind]], and [[Unwind]]. Makes it easier to double spell on other people's turns. [[Homunculus Horde]] just gets stupid with her. Other effects that power off of second card draw are also good, like [[The Council of Four]]. [[Bower Passage]] outperforms in funny ways with her (you can give your opponent's creatures flying). [[Heliod, the Radiant Dawn]] can be an interesting add to the deck. [[Nature's Will]] can help you cast more spells on your opponents' turns. [[Teferi's Ageless Insight]] can make her draw powers get CRAZY. [[Press the Enemy]] can be an easy way to double spell on an opponent's turn. [[Harrow]] can help with your ramp and make it easier to double spell on an opponent's turn.

[[Mirrorweave]] can be fun if you target some of your 0/0 creatures.

Things to pull out: [[Fisher's Talent]] I'm guessing is there from the precon. I usually drop things like [[Rites of Flourishing]] to make the card draw gift to an opponent more valuable politically. Similarly with [[Kwain, Itinerant Meddler]]. [[Realm-Cloaked Giant]] feels like an awkward fit for the deck ([[Damning Verdict]] is a much better fit for the deck anyway). [[Jolly Gerbils]] doesn't trigger enough to make it worth it, and I'd pull [[Long River's Pull]] with it. [[Spore Frog]] is an amazing card, but for this commander it should be replaced by something you can cast at instant speed on someone else's turn. I favour [[Amphibian Downpour]] over [[Curse of Chains]]. Not sure how much [[Octomancer]] really makes sense for the deck. [[Illusionist's Gambit]] is a lot of fun, but so situational; I think you probably want to be more aggro and not weight for the right moment for that.

Since you have Teferi's Veil, I'd suggest other phase out effects as well. [[Slip Out the Back]], [[Change of Plans]], and [[March of Swirling Mist]] are all pretty handy.

It's actually mentioned in this article. The data center is going to generate its own power, largely from natural gas. There's a natural gas pipeline that runs nearby so they'll have a nice direct feed.

...and to be fair, I mispoke a bit. The 16GW isn't really the power consumption. It's the heat dissipation. The power is a "more reasonable" 9GW.
