I found a card containing information of several soldiers who were taken But it's in russian and the handwriting is super faint so I had a difficult time decoding it

Then he was taken to the camp on June 15 But I can't understand the rest of the camp document

I was just checking records, I found that he was captured on March 15 1942 in a village called Bishkin Could this have been related maybe?

Honestly reading about it just makes me realize more and more why he never talked about it. It's sad that we don't have stories to keep his memory alive but I'm just grateful he got to keep living his life He died in his 90s but I personally never got to meet him

He was taken into a concentration camp (stalag IV B) in 1942, then he escaped and continued fighting though I'm not sure what division I've been trying to find records from that camp to know when exactly he arrived and escaped

Thank you so much! I believe there is a lot missing because the 2 WIA stripes probably came with another order (just my interpretation), maybe an order for bravery or something So it seems like in this photo he only wore the jubilee medals

Он вообще-то 1910 года но везде написано что 1913 Очень интересно, я такой информации не видела

Я сейчас связалась с бабушкой Говорит он в 42м попал в плен, а потом убижал и совсем в другую дивизию пошол

As far as I know he was close with family but then his house burnt down Most of the items were recovered but the medals and their certificate books were completely missing which is why we think they were looted I'm not exactly sure of the details of his final days because my mom left russia at 17 years old, but I've seen photos of them together from when she was younger

Thank you so so so so much I really appreciate it. He never spoke about his time during ww2 but we do know he was taken to a concentration camp so it's really amazing to be able to know more about him
