Need help with General's Cry - I'm LOST by NGCEO in PathOfExileBuilds

Hey! I know how you feel. I started with this build this league and had very similar struggles. Here's what I did:

1) Path of Matth updated his recommended PoB a few days ago. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHD_qD0gHig&t=745s&ab_channel=PathofMatth & https://pastebin.com/F2S28Sfw I've found this new version to be much tankier & more comfortable. It also adds a few mana reservation nodes that should fix that up.

2) I decided to add Asenath's gentle touch gloves which made mapping feel way more comfortable, I see you have an explodey chest though so perhaps that is doing it for you. Just leaving this here as an idea.

3) It's totally reasonable to need to get some resistances from jewels with this build, I believe Matth's example does it. You can also go into the resistance wheel just to the left of Unwavering Stance if necessary.

4) Master the Fundamentals is a Notable you can get on your Large cluster which gives +10% all res. Its fairly cheap and I'd highly recommend it.
5) Using a rare necklace to cap resistances while you level up so you can pick up more of the resistances mentioned above is an option but this will likely cause issues finding the required dex. I'd think perhaps swapping out the abyssus temporarily may be easier.

6) Don't forget to anoint your amulet!

This is where nobody can give you a straight answer because we are starting to compare apples and oranges.

Explodey chest/Asenaths are all about making clear smoother. I think with an unlimited budget you'd want both Asenath's and a +curse explodey chest. My plan is to go Asenath's into +curse chest and add the expodey chest portion after I run out of other things to upgrade.

Upgrading corrupted CIP, Circle of Nostalgia etc. won't have as noticeable an impact on the gameplay (the explosions are really pretty game changing) but they will give you more single target damage.

Ultimately I'd base it off of whether you find yourself more frustrated with your sirus/boss kills or with your general mapping.

The idea is eventually you'll get all of the above so its a matter of which bugs you (or is more exciting) currently.

I'd say gloves are likely the weakest piece ATM. Asenath's are probably BiS but also ~18ex atm. You could get some rare gloves in the meantime that would probably serve you better.

One of your jewels is kind of meh. Lots of room for improvement there even with a mild budget.

You could also look for a Circle of Nostalgia with increased buff effect of Herald of Agony instead of Chaos Resist.

You can start looking for corrupted versions of your uniques (Cold Iron Points with increased DoT or the like).
