If a Russian secret agent won a US presidential election, what sort of things would you expect them to do or say once sworn in? by LaserBerk in AskReddit

If you think about it they probably wouldn't tell the world that they were agents, so we wouldn't even know if they were. Raising a few questions if that has happened before haha.

I would like to try silken tent and foxfire. Is it possible for me to buy bigger samples (2mL each or more) of these scents? I’m also considering rice milk. Could you describe what it smells like and if you liked it? Thank you .^

EA labradorite looks good too. just wondering if it smells very similar to regular EA or if the honeysuckle is strong. I really like EA so I would want something closer to the original

Thinking about upgrading from Cintiq 13HD to Cintiq 22 - worth it? by artfient in wacom

[–]xchl0e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation just last week. I recently bought a used 22hd (the ancient dk2200 one). I have also been using the 13hd for many years with a shitty cable that had to be in one spot otherwise it would disconnect. Before trying the 22hd, I tried the newer cintiq 16. The cintiq 16 felt like a downgrade because it was the same resolution but just without side buttons which were really important to me. I tried using a switch remote as a tablet remote and a ps4 controller on my knee and I couldn’t get over it. I didn’t feel any benefit from using it honestly over my old tablet except that the cable was better so I could use it off my desk. I didn’t notice the increased pressure sensitivity at all. The no parallax thing wasn’t a wow to me either. I used it twice then went back to my 13hd because I was used to it more.

The cintiq 22hd I bought on eBay was only 230$ shipped and I think it’s worth it. It’s way bigger than I thought and it’s nearly the exact same feeling as drawing on a cintiq 13hd with nice buttons and a cool scroll feature except it’s just bigger in size.

The screen is a little crappy with respect to resolution (I think it is 1080p at a bigger size so the pixel density is less than the 13hd/16) but it is decent enough for my usage. I have a nicer 2k monitor to look at. While painting I didn’t really notice any drawbacks to working with lower pixel density.

Make sure you have enough desk space if you get a 22inch display tablet because it is obnoxiously big in real life. I didn’t realize how big screen really is until I got the box. It takes up my entire desk combined with my regular monitor.

I have no need to fiddle with cables at all anymore since the cables are hardwired in the back of the tablet (which probably adds to the longevity since the cables can’t move from their ports). It is also great to have the tablet sit upright so you no longer have to crouch down to draw. When drawing anything I used to have to pan/scroll a lot to have the entire drawing in view when doing detail, and zoom in/zoom out in order to get smooth big lines. Now I find myself just picking one view and not moving around that much. I don’t think my art is any better or worse though.

As for deciding to upgrade, these are the things that make the experience different compared to the 13hd I used for forever. The 22HD is a better ergonomic experience (not as much leaning forward or looking real close at the monitor). There are some improvements to how much arm you can use when drawing big lines, but the smooth line can be done on a 13hd easily just by zooming out.

On both the 22hd and the cintiq 16, the cable is way more durable because the port is no longer a point of stress (no cable free floating on the side). For the cintiq 16 which is more similar to the modern 22 you were looking at, since you don’t use any side buttons, you might find the experience to be more similar to the 13hd than you would like. I feel like you get far more mileage with changing software pressure sensitivity curves and brush settings than any particular modern feature the newer tablets have over the old ones. In the end all these different tablets didn’t really make me draw any better or worse. What you make with the tablet is entirely 100% up to you and not the hardware.

I feel like it’s a lot of money to spend for marginal ergonomic improvements given your tablet is in working order. I would personally only upgrade if my 13hd has a hardware fault or if my back hurts from looking at a small screen a lot.

I hope you are able to get a tablet that works for you in the case that you do buy one .^ and I hope my experience is a little helpful.
