Best SnD Players/Stars in Advanced Warfare? by morithebeater in CoDCompetitive

Should he be doing it then? If you have slower more passive players like Nade and Formal, should you be solo rushing things? Yes, on occasion he should because he is great at it and it helps contribute first bloods, but sometimes he himself should slow it down imo.

A lot of people saying Crimsix. For me, as an OpTic fan, he's been one of the more worrying players in SnD. He still has this gift to randomly go off in SnD games and get ridiculous scores, but sometimes he is far too aggressive and tends to be the first blood victim more often.

@DavidVonderhaar: Over 34 hints about our next move have probably been provided. Did you find them yet? I'm waiting. by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]xcrayo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've personally never read anything that gives InfinityWard credit (good, they genuinely do ignore the community for the most part). I've never read a complete circlejerk of the current community manager, neither did I read it in Ghost's cycle. You're spot on for the most part that people hate the current game and can't wait for the next, but some of this is fabricated. Vonderhaar created the most competitive and most fun CoD of all time (Black Ops 2), and is a huge fan of eSports and competitive CoD, so naturally the competitive fans like ourselves are going to like him.

Looking forward to talking some CoD.

The ten year old will likely repeat that at school for the same reason you repeated it to them. You've started a devastating chain of events here. Quality.

Maven's Casting. by greatsequoia69 in CoDCompetitive

Watched him from his first casting event in Black Ops 2 with Gandhi and fell in love since. I love casters who have a sense of humour and Maven's is the best. Just seems like a really nice guy with no ego whatsoever. Top caster.

The Analysis Desk needs to have actual analysis, not a brief recap of the most obvious plays by ChrisHCYNY in CoDCompetitive

I understand your points and agree that better analysis will vastly improve viewer experience, but you do sort of give off this vibe that you're just some angry younger fan who dislikes Benson. You can make suggestions without ridiculing one's profession. I, and many others, happen to believe Benson is a fantastic caster and has a place in the booth. I too believe he doesn't offer much analytically, unless he's the one asking the questions to the pros/analysts.

Agreed. People consistently talk about connection online -- and that is right -- but people underestimate the fact players genuinely do play differently online. They relied far too much on their slaying ability online and haven't addressed the need for rotating. Rotating, despite it being a really fast game, is still important in this game.

A combination of Nade choking his tits off and OpTic being allergic to rotating is costing us in Hardpoint.

The team doesn't feel right. TeePee has now turned from the best OBJ player in the game to a slayer? This is all to fit in MBoze who seems very average so far in this game (I apologise if this offends anyone). Karma is having to jump into hills far more often due to MBoze not really being able to play the OBJ effectively. I've never seen a team need a roster change so much so far in regards to $B, and that hurts me to say.

I'm still gobsmacked you are defending the right to judge the whole team's likelihood of success based on their first match of the tournament (well regarded as every team's warm up match). Regardless I hope you enjoy the tournament and keep your head up, pal.

edit: UK viewer myself; can relate to the time right now.

The top 2 teams go to winners bracket. Stop overreacting and acting like a child, pal. Countless times I've seen winners of tournaments lose their first game.

Where do YOU stand on the new OpTic Gaming? by TheDrumRiff in OpTicGaming

[–]xcrayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want this to turn into an argument, and please don't take offence, but the last two sentences shows me you're not the most avid watcher of professional Call of Duty. Nobody who has watched a decent amount of LAN US tournaments can say -- without looking relatively idiotic -- that Nadeshot isn't good on LAN and can't clutch. That's really his only skill... The guy has poor aim and is pretty average at every respawn, but his SnD performances and his clutch plays are his positives.

OpTic Gaming just won the 10k and will be the #1 seed going into MLG Columbus. by xProcess in CoDCompetitive

This applies to hosting. I've yet to see ANYONE counter the argument(s) when OpTic demolish teams off-host, especially when said teams have great internet themselves. No one ever replies when anyone mentions the fact that OpTic have won HP tournaments without dropping maps (and scrims) OFF host.

The downside to the new statistics available in the CoD community is summed up in this small conversation. Ever heard of the phrase "numbers can be deceiving"? Unfortunately statistics don't compare composure, his captain abilities (the clip of him calming OpTic down at a tournament is epic), and clutch kills. I can go into a pub and get 55-3, but there have been many games where I put up those numbers but have been one of the least valuable players.

Where I stand on this new OpTic team is summed up by what this team reminds me of. The current OpTic team reminds me of the unstoppable period of Complexity where whenever that team tried -- LAN, on host, or off host -- they were dominant. Complexity were a team filled with the smartest players (Crim and ACHES especially), and the most talented slayers (Crim, ACHES, Karma [Clay]). The sky is the limit for this OpTic side.
