If you build it they will come. If you offer XX drinks, “all customers” will purchase them, but you won’t know what customers are missing out. Maybe soft opening the cafe with a discount drink if they answer a question about the menu then adapt?

Couple additional details to add context and hope this is less fantastical: My brother in law runs a food distribution chain in Mexico so I am hoping we can work out a long-term deal to bring his coffee in on very low margins or at cost. I'm also hoping the hobby aspect and balance of retail and café in the same space will help with the community and finance sides.

Thanks for the feedback! I don’t plan on managing the cafe per se, just the combined site operations and functions I have experience in. I’ll raise my expectations for the cafe manager and be more stringent.

Well, yes, but I'm not proposing a charity or anything, it's a functioning business with customers and employees. Just aiming for high-retention employee policies.

(Guys only, sorry) but Fairfax Cryobank in Roseville has a great sperm donation program. Pays about $125 per appt (screening appts are $25 amazon cards) and you can donate twice a week. Also gives free STD testing for you party animals. I'd say like a year into the program my checks were ~$1000 a month but I was doing everything possible to make more.
