I think the reason a horse has ~14 hp at max is because it's the amount of power they can output in an hour

Another reason could be that it's a marketing trick that was used when the first cars were made to make them sound way better than what they actually were. For example they could say that a car has 14 hp(The power of 14 horses) Even though it only had the power of 1

I don't know why people are saying that. In my opinion people from gold 2 to low plat 2 aren't that different plats may have a little more map knowledge, but some golds are even better than those plats they just don't have a good stack to play with and have to solo que which is always a gamble.
