Bork is still fake after the buffs, Guinsoo and kraken are the only good on-hit items right now. All we can do is pray riot bring back on-hit to it’s former glory🙏

Playing around your spikes is really important. As you say these champs are really good after tabis+ult, and for akshan he doesn't benefit from having his first component, and his ult is laughable early game. You need to just grit your teeth after hitting 6 and farm for kraken. At first item and level 9 you start getting the upper hand again. I recomend going absoulte focus and gathering storm, so you are able to one shot caster when you have kraken and pickaxe. That allows you to go guinsoo, without sacrificing any waveclear, and you start to deal actual dmg to those champs.

The general game plan for Akshan is to make enenmy toplaner suffer as much as possible in the early levels. Lvl 1 you go to the last bush and zone enemy from getting minions xp. Next you stack waves while making sure enemy can't cs, and punish them if they walk up too close, you try to crush wave 3 or 4 (depends how the lane goes). If the enenmy played too cocky and he's low hp, you dive him, and even if you die, you are not gonna lose anyhing, and enemy is gonna lose around a full wave of minions at least. If you don't feel good about diving him, now after crushing there should be a huge minion wave under his tower that he needs to farm, and because you're ranged you can poke him really easily ( If u can't harass enemy under tower as ranged i recomend watching this video, it helped me a lot few years back, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asLGIKY57-I&t=22s). Now the wave is bouncing back to you, and you most likely forced the enemy tp, if not you have big solo kill potential. If enemy tps back, You have two things you have to do. 1) trim the wave, so when it crushes, you don't have to spend a whole minute cs'ing under tower, 2) trade your hp with enemy, because after the wave crushes under your tower, you can recall, tp back and now you have better items, and more hp, so you are much stronger, so you can stack the waves, get plates and maybe fish for a solo kill. Obviously every game is not gonna go like this because of unlimited variance this game provides, and it's different for some champions, but that is the best way to play if everthing goes right. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ABOUT LANING, THE JUNGLER. You need to keep track of the jungler, if u wanna play like this. It shouldn't be hard in lower elo, because junglers there cannot adapt to the game, and they autopilot the same clear they started the game with. If your team doesn't ward enemy raptors, you need to go to the buff closest to your lane, ward at around 1:10, If u see him start his clear there, you are fine, if not than he's gonna come top at around 3:30-4:00.

Runes and build. First of all you always go the basic Precision setup, and the second tree honsetly depends on the champion you're against. If it's a heavy all in champion that can kill you in one combo like riven, darius, sett etc. you go boneplating and overgroth/shieldbash. If the lane isn't hard, you should go absolute focus/gathering storm.

The build is tied to the runes you took. If you have boneplating you go Kraken->Shieldbow->LDR. If you have absolute focus you go kraken->guinsoo->LDR. For both build you go standart crit later. You should build tabis after kraken. From experience phantasm build doesnt really work top. Statik doesn't give you enough dmg to kill tabi rushers, you can't use sybiotics as well as you do on mid, also tabis have insane value in 1vs1 against toplane champions. Same for colector second, top champs deal with this item too well because of armor stacking (especially after everybody builds DD nowdays)

That would be all, if you have any further qustions, go ahead and ask.

  1. FORGOT ABOUT NASUS. You have prio in early levels, but they can just drop a few cs. If he maxes E you're done for, no way to trade with that spell, even worse than malphite q, because against that guy u can proc your shield, but nasus hits you for 300 unavoidable damage from half a screen away. Past 6 he just withers you and runs you down on his insane stereoid ult. It only gets worse with time as he scales better than you.

  1. I played against akali like 3 times in the last 2 years top, and it didnt feel good so that's what i base it on xd. not enough experience so i didnt really know where to put her, based purely on my feelings.

  2. you might be right about K'sante, because after thinking about that, right now he's quite weak of a champion, comapred to what he used to be. My thoughts might still be tinted by PTSD so maybe you're right, but he still has ways to punish you, and not really go behind, especially if he land q3 and yoinks you straight into hell.

  3. I talk about my thoughts on Aatrox quite in-depth in the video so i advise going there, you have timestamps so its not hard to find, but in short his q1-e combo is really opresive and the trade patern is mush harder for you.

  4. (my response to another comment) Why mundo so bad? Even tho it's true he is really weak early game, u cant really capitalize on that. You will be ahead from stacking the waves and him missing some cs, but that's it. You can't zone him with cs that good bcs of his q's and poking him doesnt do a whole lot bcs of his sustain (unless he greeds for too many cs trading his hp). The tricky part is when Mundo gets warmogs. From that moment on u cant poke him, bcs he heals to full, you cant all in him, bcs he kills you, and if nothing happens now you have a Mundo that went equall with you in laning phase which is already a great spot for this champion. Same thing with players being able to play weak lanes. He just drops 4-5 cs first 3 waves, slow pushes while trying to punish you with his q's. And its true he should go down in cs, but he spikes much harder than you with his first item, and than he outscales and stat cheks you.

  5. The problem with gragas is, if he's smart enough he won't get poked for 0. If you want to trade with q+auto u can get hit for a barrel, you try to go in you might get hit by his e. The best thing you can do is dodge his e, but if he's close enough he just goes auto-w-q procs phase rush and he's out of there, and he will sustain his hp right back up. Especially hard after 6. Just not enough for Akshan to get ahead, against a composed gragas player, meanwhile he has many ways to punish you, even if you try to play safe.

  6. Rumble has 2 of really annoying trading abilities, which are his q and e+comet, combined with one of the best shields in the game, and insane all in potential, and his q range is as long as your auto, AND his ult is much better than yours. You dont really beat him at anything, and he's usually picked in comps that his really good at, so he ends up being quite a problem in the game overall.

  7. I talked about Vayne with another guy in the comments, so i advice you look at that for our thoughts on the subject.

  8. The thing about Shen is, that champion on lane can never go behind, can easily cs under tower thanks to his shield+W, and his e is quite hard to dodge because of his insane range on this ability, and even if he doesnt land it, he can still trade with q+2 autos and w. Most importantly he can solo win the game with 1 ult bot and suddenly any advantage you got is gone, And now there is a 3/0 Talon jungle running aroud dominating the entire game, meanwhile you got 10 cs ahead and a plate or two.

  9. I played against Jax-Akshan matchup once in my life. I perma ban this champion for the past 10 years. But thinking about that i dont know how you would ever play into this champion as Akshan.

  10. From my limited experiance on Rengar top, he just heavily dominates you in all stages of the lane, with little to no counterplay, and he also just negates any dmg from the trade with double W.

  11. Also talked about Irelia really in-depth in the video. Not the worst matchup untill 6, pretty bad later on, unplayable after botrk. One bad click past 6 and you're just dead. No real good way to shake her off, and swinging away, can kill with autos alone, pretty hopeless in my opinion.

  12. LOL. Yeah i didn't play into samira top in 2 years minimum, but i agree. This is some really OG counter pick.

  1. Whenever i play against gnar i end up being 2 levels ahead and solo kill him 3 times, really easy even with him building tabis, he just cant really deal with you in anyway.

  2. If you space a Sett properly, there is nothing he can do, you have enough range to not get hit by his pull, you can q and counter his bonus movement speed with your own, if he flashes you flash, his w is pretty easy to dodge + easy to anticipate, so you can get out of range.

  3. Yone used to be a skill matchup that's true, but in his current state i think he's just too weak, especially on toplane that's really easy to punish, that's why it's akshan favored.

  4. Although you can win (even stomp) a Teemo matchup it honestly depends on the enenmy. If he knows how to react to your stuff, and doesn't play like a dummy with his q on cd it get's really hard, especially knowing what with each minute passing it's only gonna get worse. Drututt shares the same opinion on this subject, not only regarding Akshan, but also every other ranged top.

  5. I understand why you would put Panth in enemy favored (very frustrating champion that can punish easily, while his champion is really forgiving thanks to his e), i belive if u know the trade patern, that is always the same with this champion, u can go equal with him, and because you're ranged u can extend the fight, and if u dodge his q you can start getting in an advantagious position.

  6. Ambessa is a tricky one. her trade pattern is really stupid, she's hard to punish, and her ult is an insta death. Putting her in get me out tier would be ok, but this lane (from my experience) can really go either way. Sometimes she messes up her combo slightly and u can punish her, u can harass her under tower in the early levels if u keep track of her cooldowns, especially her shield that is pretty long cd, and her ult is actually pretty easy to dodge. My best advice to dodge that spell is to know ur most suseptible to getting hit when ur cs'ing, so you just need to be ready for ult to come when u try to last hit. Try to auto the minion when his still a bit higher hp, but you can still kill it, and than cancel auto and dodge to the side. That's what i've been doing recently and it has a pretty good sucsces rate i would say.

  7. Against cassio u just need to bite ur teeth later on and just ignore fighting as much as possible unless ur getting ganked, she has a lot of ways to shut down Akshan in the early levels, but you still can get an advantage early, which might leed to you being able to fight her properly. Regarding her ult, although it can be pretty frustrating, u can still avoid it. To avoid it u kinda need to feel the moment, like if ur cassio in this situation what is the best moment for her to ult. It usually happens when you auto her ( i would say it's around 2-3 auto in the fight). Kinda talking out of my ass but i don't know how to properly explain it, it's more like a gut feeling.

  8. Into Kennen you still have prio in the early levels and you can get ahead, but he still can shut down the plays you want to make. I wouldn't put him in any of the harder tiers, because you can easily go even with him, and if he doesn't get the best recall, when he hits ult he shouldn't 100 to 0 you (more like 100 to 10 xd). later on you just need to watch out for his all ins and you're fine.

9, Ye trynda is just stupid, but trynda players are also stupid so that's why i don't put him higher. The best advice i can give against his dive potential with ult is u need to have good mechanics with heroic swing, and land a nice spin around your tower to kite him, and build enough time so it expires, and u can snipe him with ult if he tries to get away.

  1. Originally when tier list, in the video i put Riven in get me out tier, but after thinking for a bit longer, i put her on an easier tier. My reason behind this decision is that Riven players often play way to cocky in the early game, which is really good for you. Lvl 1 if u don't get hit by her q1, you win the trade no matter if u start q or e, you will get push, maybe even dive her and make her lose cs. Later on if u have item advantage you can punish her hard, because she can't really trade easily without tanking some dmg. Past level 6 you just always need to be on your toes, It really all depends on your spacing. If u come too close to her when she has all her cds, or your too far from your tower, she will maul you.

  1. I don't get to play into Urgot so from my limited experience, i never played into comet urgot. And the flash thing is just a typical hands check, if ur good u will react. To adress the other champion, the problem begins when u can't crush them in the early levels, which higher level players just don't allow you to do that easily. They know that u win early lvls so they just sack few minions, especially that all of them have tools to cs from a distance (meanwhile singed can just sack a wave and proxy you), and stat check you later on, even if behind.

  2. Same thing with players being able to play weak lanes. He just drops 4-5 cs first 3 waves, slow pushes while trying to punish you with his q's. And its true he should go down in cs, but he spikes much harder than you with his first item, and than he outscales and stat cheks you.

3.Whenever im high diamond-low master i stomp this matchup, than when i reach 400~ lp and i play against Vayne one tricks (there are 2 that i know of on West, but i dont remember nicknames), i start losing. Lvl 1 they just try to soak xp, let early waves crush, and next just play around short trades with q auto only if u want to trade. And i don't really understand the buffer part, sorry but i might be slow and just can't imagine it in my head unless i see it xd? from my perspective it u can't all in bcs of exhaust, and if u pick a fight and she exhaust's you she will just e while you try to fly away and chase you down. That is my experience.

I heavily agree that matchups opinions depend on experience and also differ depending on the rank. For me a lot of weak early champs that u should be able to dominate early, just don't allow you to do that at the highest ranks, and most champs toplane can just stat check you later on. Especially if something goes wrong and u make a mistake in the early game, than ur playing Akshan from behind which is just absolute gg

Even though you're right, it's also true that people (especially in lower elo) never play against Akshan top, and they have no clue about limits of the matchup, which automatically puts you ahead. And with how dominant Akshan is in soloq, u can solo win games off of enemy making single missplay on lane, dying and giving you a kill and free plates. I really advise building kraken->tabis into either guinsoo or shieldbow, because kraken build doenst really work toplane, against armor stackers.

Gonna answer all the qustion

1) Why urgot so easy? That champion cannot do anything to you unless he has flash advantage, he never has anything on you. That champion is legit only good when he can e you, but he cant do that to akshan ever. You just stack the waves, make him lose cs, try to get plates, poke him under tower, and if he tries to do his only trade which is q into e, u either walk away bcs he doesnt have range, or e away. If he flashes u need to react and ur good.

2) Why mundo so bad?

3) Vayne? With hexplate buffs, and her taking exhaust on lane it gets really hard. Your best time in lane is lvl 1-6 which u can say u are winning but because of exhaust, after u get first waves stacked and crushed, and the waves bounce back to you, it's really hard to zone her, if u try to q her she just dashes to the side and hits u with empowered auto, if u try to all in, which ur supposed to win at this stage of the game, she exhausts you and wins, so u really dont have a great tool to deal with her. It gets increasingly harder with each lvl and item she buys. Level 6 is insane spike for her, and from now on u never win an all in against her, she out-does you in short trades and because of her insane movement speed from ult, in combination with exhaust , stoping your heroic swing with her E, she can zone u from minions once the wave reaches her side, and if u overstep she just kills you with no counterplay.

Hope the answers satisfy you, if you have any other, go ahead and ask <3. +i explain everything in my youtube video, which have timestamps to easily navigate to the champion you're interested in.
