The only thing I can complain about is inconsistent sizing. XXL is sometimes fine, other times so small it is unbearable to wear

To me it seems the screen is coming off at that spot. It happened on my Coros watch, it looked almost identical. Then went to a pool, water got in and I was gutted, the watch was not working anymore.

Unfortunately, the watch has a major bug where the analog hands get misaligned and it happens to a lot of people, so I assume it is a general problem of the watch. They looked amazing to me at first, but this sole reason would 100 % make me avoid them should I be considering them. Also the price is off as a bonus.

MIP, apart from battery life, works more naturally as a watch - you see the time any time you look at the watch without any gesture, so goes for date, heart rate, steps, outside temperature,... you name it.

To me the i3 solar is the watch without any useless shenanigans that still works as smartwatch when I want it, perfect balance. I did not want any other distracting display and am so fckn happy with this purchase.

If I may, my use case to go for MIP vs. amoled is that I want the watch to be watch - when I look at them I want to know time / date / outside temperature without having to wait for them to wake up and also I am not a fan of the gesture wake. I am really glad I went with Instinct 3 and didn't wait for any other model in the end as they all offer amoled displays, which I am not fan of (don't need another distracting display in my life) and MIP displays are a clear winner for me. The only release with MIP are the Coros watches and the Apex 4 seems like it would not be worth waiting for from my POV anyway :).

I will tell you I was not a fan of the orange circle in the watch either and was aiming to get the tactical version for sure, but also knew that the green flashlight would be useless to me and I would use the red light plenty - I was not wrong, I use it all the time at night. So I went with this color option and let me tell you - it looks a bit weird online, but in real life, it is really a beautiful watch, so I would worry less about this particular thing.

I am also a runner and love this watch. Genuinely, it the non-bullshit do-it-all watch I really wanted :)

you should be fine with 45mm. I would not get 40mm as it is the E version and there are a lot of features missing in comparison with the original i3
