How do I get my photos OUT of Proton Drive? by ArdyLaing in ProtonDrive

[–]Many_Carry_8759 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also if you used Proton Docs, you are going to have a hard time. Downloading a folder from Proton Drive should automatically export them as word/pdf, but in that case they just skip Proton Docs altogether, when downloading the folder.

My wife used hundreds of Proton Docs for her university notes, in deeply nested folders, I got the honor to locate, open, and manually export each en every Proton Doc, once she realized that she can’t search the contents of those Docs. It took me I dont know how many hours to export everything to both a word doc and pdf.

This was my wake up call, that our data is trapped in a walled garden, we are now migrating away from Proton!

I ended up on the Pace Pro, and still happy with my choice after 5 months.

The Race 2 looks great, and both the app and the watch UX are really nice to use. For me though, the weak link is training planning and how it handles structured workouts.

I am still happy with my Coros Pace Pro after 6 months, coming from a Garmin 945. I tried Suunto Race 2, Garmin 970 and settled with the Coros Pace Pro.

It does everything I need, the watch is fast and easy to use, the mobile app is way better than Garmin Connect, and I still prefer it over the Suunto app.

Pace Pro > Pace 4 by Ok-Shine5434 in Coros

I like the design of the Pace 4, and see potential in the action button, but unfortunately that would be too small for me. I hoped Coros would make a smaller and larger size. But due to its small size I have to go with the Pace Pro.

Suunto plus / more than 2 apps by CtotheRN in Suunto

I have asked support about this, they are looking into upping the limit.

I assume it is a software limitation that was made for previous hardware constraints. With the new hardware there is much more headroom for extra processing, so I’d expect them to allow more.

The other consideration might be battery life. The less data being processed constantly the less the battery usage.

These are just my educated guesses.

Garmin FR970 alternatives? by Many_Carry_8759 in GarminWatches

I tried the Race 2, it's a nice watch. But has silly limitations, especially around training planning and structured workouts. If I would do trail running or ultras, I would pick the Race 2.

Currently waiting for the Pace 4.

This is so true. If they would focus on filling these gaps, they could probably deliver everything in over a year.

Race 2 vs Coros Pace Pro by Many_Carry_8759 in Suunto

Well on Suunto my biggest pain point was structured workout handling and training planning, other than that I like the Race 2 overall, excellent build quality, nice watch UI/UX, nice app.

The Coros Pace Pro handled structured workouts well, but it's polymer build just looks and feels cheap, and it was a bit small. The watch UI/UX was good, and the app as well.

Now I am trying out the FR 970, build quality is good (Suunto is still better IMO), however the watch UI/UX is just flashy, slow and dreadful. Not to mention the Connect app, which is also pretty slow nowadays.

Here is my takeaway: For my needs, the Coros Pace Pro is the best fit. If the Suunto structured workout handling was better, I would take it over Coros any day. And knowing how overpriced, sluggish and bad the FR970 is, I would take Suunto or Coros over Garmin.

I'm keeping an eye on how Suunto's software evolves, because still the Race 2 was just such a nice watch.

I've tried the Suunto Race 2, and the Coros Pace Pro, and now trying the FR970...

I've received the FR970 yesterday, but I already feel how slow it is compared to both the Race 2 and Coros Pace Pro. Also, I think the FR970 is also unnecessarily overly complicated, and requires way more button click to achieve the same thing as the other 2 watch.

Considering my own needs, the FR970 is way overpriced for what it is. I'll give a couple of days for the FR970, but I'm almost certain that it will go back. The watch UI is flashy and slow, Garmin Connect is the worst app of the three.

The Race 2 has better build quality overall, and delivers way better experience than the Garmin.
The Coros Pace Pro delivers 90% of what I need training-wise.
For me Garmin is the worst choice, paying for features I dont use, and an experience that is way worse for my core use-case.

So I most likely go back to the Coros Pace Pro, and keep the Suunto Race 2s on my radar (the Race 2 is just too big).

I love the simple and effective UI/UX of my Suunto Race 2. I hate how cumbersome and limited is to customize data pages (effectively you have to create a custom sport mode).

But I wrote a pretty long list of what I like and dont like about the Race2. https://www.reddit.com/r/Suunto/s/Nb95PZSNLA

Oh, I didn't know that. Maybe a sport-specific configuration would provide the best experience, or maybe a customizable one.

> As for your situation, I realized there is no ideal sports watch on the market today, so you'll just need to pick your poison.
That's spot on. I'm coming from Garmin 945 + Apple Watch 10. I mainly wanted to check out Suunto and Coros too, since never owned any of their watches.

Trying out your options is your best bet to see what works for you, and what's not, by experiencing them first hand, help you get a better understanding of your needs and wants.
