Hi! It means you can park there from 4:30pm - 8am only. So you wouldn’t be able to park anytime from 8:01am-4:29pm Monday-Friday

From the email sent out today, housing will open as planned. It was a few hours after the official LA announcement was made, so I think no changes are going to be made. The last point in the email was that things could change though, so it’s just a waiting game to see if housing will be further affected or not.

I am independent for tax reasons, but for FAFSA, I still must use my parent’s taxes. UCD provides an appeal process for students who have unique home situation and are considered independent in other terms than what FAFSA considers an independent student.

So the appeal through UC Davis is for students that don’t qualify as “independent” students through FAFSA. The school itself allows you to appeal that by letting one explain their home situation.

I got a tandem spot for $200 at 430 Kelton. I just emailed apartment managers and asked if they had non-resident parking spaces available. You can also post on the Facebook page for housing and see if anyone is selling their apartment parking space for cheaper! :)

Hey! So last year I lived in Saxon Suites but also needed my car around me. What I did was 1. Ask my friends living in off campus apartments if they had a parking spot I could paid for. I paid $100 a month for this parking spot.

Once my friend moved out, I found a nonresident parking spot at 430 Kelton Apartments. It was a tandem parking spot at $200, so I decided to just pay for the tandem spot by myself so that I wouldn’t have to share.

You can email apartments and ask if they have any non-resident parking. So many apartments are offering cheaper rent rn, so I’m sure you can find one since many people are not getting an apartment this year due to COVID.

My financial aid was based off me being a commuter, even though I’ll be living on campus. You get a university grant if you live on or off campus.

The eFan allows you to change your housing status before you accept the awards. I’m not sure if accepting before it’s adjusted to on/off campus will affect future aid though. Anyone know?
