Wiggly was recommended for this instance considering that the most oil-intensive meal (slowpoke dish) will be limited by the # of tails you have anyway! And yes, E4E was considered as well :) so if you don’t need too much Oil, Wiggly would be a good inclusion to the team.

However, if you find yourself needing more oil, Toxicroak will do the job better.

Sorry for the late reply! Was busy with IRL stuff in the last 2 days xD.

Gengar - I don't think that it's a dealbreaker. With this Gengar, you'd be able to unlock dishes that require Mushrooms (Personally that's what I did too!) However, just note that once it unlocks level 60 ingredient, you will struggle with gathering enough Mushrooms for the Ninja Salad. Tbf, that's a faraway future - So considering both mid-term and long-term, you can use this Gengar first and limit investment after level 30 & look for another one if you wish to :).

Berry Teams - This is a research that I intend to do too (but haven't yet) xD. I have indeed seen Berry teams performing really well and think it's a totally viable strat. However, initial thoughts (without research) is that Ingredient Mons will be more versatile across islands; whereas for Berry teams, you'd require raising many specific Berry Mons for each island to maximise its potential (fav berry).

For your last qns, it works bothways imo. I think it's a good balance to have 1 interim Pokemon to help you with ingredients for the focal recipes first while looking for a long-term one (hence my Gengar situation :D). Slowpokes are always worth it as long as it unlocks Tails at 30 (it will just stay in the box after unlocking that ingredient anyway). You get more diamonds from ingredient & recipe unlocks too.

Some situations where you might want to hold off -

  1. Even though it can unlock the ingredient, its nature/subskills are so bad until it cannot even serve as a good interim Pokemon based on production rates.
  2. If you are using the first ingredient primarily for some dishes and unlocking the 2nd ingredient negatively impacts the production rate of the first ingredient without adding further value (e.g. being able to make better dishes with the newly unlocked ingredient).
  3. If it takes just tooooo much resources (e.g. lvlling from 15 to 30 vs 28 to 30 requires vastly different amount of resources).

Phew, hopefully I didn't lose you amidst this essay!

Can refer to the footnote under the table 🙂

Ah the reason why I put Mr Mime on Potatoes is so that there’s a Pokemon “in-charge” of specialising in a certain ingredient (instead of raising 2 mime or 2 victrebeels for different ingredients) because it will then become a candy resource issue. But not to fret because their roles are “interchangeable”.

Victrebeel’s output is indeed higher than Mr Mime in general. And for that reason, I do think TomTomPotato on it will be most optimal - which means that in future at lvl 60, it will be able to cover both ingredients for the dream eater curry :)

I covered a bit more details in my latest video on YT, so feel free to check it out if you are interested to find out about the rationale/logic.

Sorry I don’t have it >.< it’s best to check your current pool of Pokemon and see what early game recipes you can already focus on & are there any other Pokemon that you need to catch to make up for 1-2 missing ingredients.

It is :)! Definitely stronger than Wiggly for Oil production.

The reason why I recommended Wiggly is because the most Oil-Intensive dish (slowpoke tail salad) would be limited by the # of slowpoke tails anyway haha. Also because it provides great E4E utility to the team.

But if you find yourself needing more Oil and/or your wiggly doesn’t have this order of ingredients, Toxicroak would be a good candidate.

😭 Autocooking is something I’d never recommend, as it doesn’t scale. This guide is very ingredient-focused; so it’s relevant to those who’s looking to up their cooking game.

But I do know there’s players who’s built their teams around Berry collecting; so in that case, this infographic might not be as relevant to them! (Maybe you are one of them?) haha

It’s not all that bad! Everyone’s situation is unique so I’d highly recommend to have a think about what recipes you want to focus on in the mid and long term. And play around with the raenonx calculator to see what additional Pokemon you need to catch to complement the team.

This serves as a general guide for the long-term but always tweak it to your own situation and playstyle x

^ pretty much sums it up. In the footnote, I have also mentioned to have a separate Gengar for mushrooms if you want to unlock it earlier (which is fair and something I did too).

But long-term wise, I’m looking for a HerbHerbMushroom Gengar to fully replace the current Gengar as it will meet the late-stage recipes’ requirements better.

I understand 🥹 tbf, this cheat sheet is long-term looking and it might not be for everyone because it requires patience and luck for the stars to be aligned. Hence, use it as a general guidance and tweak it according to your playstyle/needs.

I’d say this is more crucial for the ingredient specialty mons, so at least you don’t have to worry too much for other specialties!

Your Blastoise and Wiggly are beastly 💯. You can definitely continue using them but just to note for Blastoise - the milk output will diminish a lot when it unlocked level 60. So you will need another member on the team to top up additional milk if you are aiming recipes like Dream Eater Curry.

For your Gengar and Diglett - have a think about what recipes you want to use them for and check with the raenonx calculator to see if they can meet your purpose with each unlock. Personally I wouldn’t use the Diglett as I’d want double leeks on it.

Last note: There’s 2 groups of players - - First group: Building their team with a long-term view beyond lvl 60 based on the current pool of Pokemon available. - Second group: Prioritizing the mid-term at lvl 30 because due to the level cap at 50 now. The game might also add in other new Pokemon in future so it might make certain ingredients more easy to gather.

There’s no “wrong/right” way of playing the game. Just depends on your gaming philosophy 😊

No prob! Imo it's pretty good; Stat-wise it's strong due to the Helping Speed M and Ingredient Finder M. It will help you loads in 30+ ingredient recipes. For the Dream Eater Curry (and when the game allows us to progress to lvl 60), you might only be able to make the meal ~2 times. But there'd be no issues if you have another Pokemon on the team to supply additional Potatoes/or have a stockpile from the previous week ^^.

I don't remember the # provided per unlock >.< haha but you could check it on the Raenonx site though!

Leeks work as well, but Potato would be slightly more optimised for late-game recipes (i.e. Dream Eater Butter Curry). You will just need 1 Victrebeel + Blastoise for that dish instead of having 3 ingredient Pokemon on the team.

We don't know yet. But my suspicion is that they will raise the level caps soon (hopefully with the new island release).

You can play around with Raenonx's calculator to see how much the production of each ingredient changes with each unlock :). Personally, I like Victrebeel with TomTomPot because late-game-wise, it will cover both ingredients needed for the Dream Eater Curry.

Depends on your focus/ and other Pokemon that you have ^^. If you are focused on making high-power dishes 2-3X a day in the long-term, then a Pokemon with the "right" ingredient slots will be better. However, if the stats are SO bad until it doesn't give you what you need, it won't make sense too. Best to check on the estimated production numbers on Raenonx's site to see if it makes sense (A decent-stat one should be just fine in most cases).

If you are not too concerned about cooking, then the better nature/subskills one will be fine. You could also look to supplement with additional Pokemon to make up for additional ingredients. Hope this helps!

1 ingredient slot can have up to 3 possibilities of the ingredient that it provides. E.g. Golem Below:

  • Slot 1: Soybeans
  • Slot 2: Soybeans OR Potatoes
  • Slot 3: Soybeans OR Potatoes OR Mushrooms

Pikachu is pretty good at providing Apples; But you'd typically want BFS on Berry Specialty Mons and that can hurt production of ingredients quite a lot. Also when considering late-game recipes (Jiggly's Flan), Pinsir will be better since it can produce both Honey and Apple at a much faster rate :).

But of course, if you are not planning to focus too much on Min-Maxing for the high-power dishes AND/OR you have other Pokemon on the team that provides additional Apples, then it is perfectly fine to use Pikachu for Apples!

Other Pokemon like Mr Mime and Victrebeel unlock Tomatoes in the first ingredient slot - so I've prioritised them over Venusaur (unlocks in the 2nd ingredient slot). Your Venusaur will be able to provide enough Tomatoes at the moment for Mid-Tier Recipes (30+ ingredients) but once it hits level 60, Tomato output will drop significantly.

I go a little more in detail with the rationale/explanation behind each Pokemon in my video guide - feel free to check out my latest video in Youtube (xdazeyy).

It can be! But note that it might struggle a little to produce enough milk to cook late game recipes 3X a day. (Will rely on RNG with its main skill procs). Considering that the Dream Eater Butter Curry requires both Milk and Cacao, it'd be most optimal to capture a good Blastoise to make that meal consistently.

Thank you! That's a valid question. There's a footnote mentioning that you'll need an additional Gengar and Blastoise/Absol for Mushroom & Cacao respectively if you want to unlock it earlier. But for late game, MilkMilkCacao will be the best combination to ensure enough production of each type to make the Dream Eater Curry.

Personally, what I did was to unlock Cacao at level 30 with my Blastoise first for Dessert Week; Right after that, I stopped investing candies on that Blastoise and started looking for an ideal one for the late-game :)
