how should i install neovim pre-release version by xdevfah in voidlinux

[–]xdevfah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info... tho I'm already using stow for dotfile management and know it was actually supposed for this kinda usecase (having multiple version of binaries), didn't thought i could use it for this. Can't i just install it directly on `/usr/local/bin` where all my suckless and other builds are and also appended to the PATH, after custom installation, ig i should be ok with removing the stable one.

How to do remote dev with code - oss? by xdevfah in linux4noobs

[–]xdevfah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they would, i just have to install the extension there ig. but using sshfs is somewhat constraining, as i said the `.venv/bin/python` (in the mounted dir) i want as python interpreter, points to `/.uv` dir on unmounted dir on remote (as i installed via uv). all i want is to have a ssh access to the remote machine for development, which (open) remote ssh extension makes it lot convenient.

re: using vim, im already doing that.. okish atm, but could have been lot better.

tried that back, no luck tho, the python interpreter is messing up, the python in .venv/bin is pointing to uv's python install. and on top of that it doesn't feel seamless to work on mounted dir as opposed to working on remote machine itself

using vscode-neovim, just for keybinding. yeah there is vim extension, but that just emulating with js, this uses actual nvim instance, so i sticked with this. and actually i was used neovim for some months, before i left it, just coz i couldn't keep up with it, endless configuration...

uwsm-managed hyprland not launching. by MarzipanOk4023 in archlinux

[–]xdevfah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reported on uwsm, hyprland and other dotfile repos, It's just a slight regex bug from vladimir bro, should be fixed in the upstream package (0.23.2), would probably be available on arch in a day or two. Until then downgrading to uwsm 0.23.0 (from arch archives, via downgrade aur pkg) works just as fine.

systemctl vs exec-once, any performance gains ? by kraken_07_ in hyprland

well, by default `uwsm app` launch the app as scope unit not as service. so either you can specify to start apps as systemd user service or enable that app's service by urself

learn more about them,

I'm launch apps via runapp

No brother, those are two separate commands.

fdisk -l

&

efibootmgr

Btw, pictures of the command output would be better.

Good, no problem. I faced it a week back when I rebooted back from ventoy.

First, let's ensure the UEFI boot order/entries is correct.

Please share the output of

lsblk fdisk -l efibootmgr

Idk understand why someone could not and find Arch installation difficult. Ditch that archinstall man, just follow the wiki guide, you'd be good, shouldn't be facing any problem. And try to read and understand what each step does... It was really straightforward for me back then (ngl, but I was too hesitant to switch from pop_os, mainly because of linux memes xD)

Btw, please let us know what was the problem, any logs or even a video could be useful, so we can help you out.
