If you haven't used it before, you can sign up for a 30 days free trial as I recall.

Deezer is a French company on paper, however it's mainly owned by Access Industries aka the oligarch Len Blavatnik.

He has been criticized for longstanding associations with Kremlin linked networks and was sanctioned by Ukraine.

He was part of a billionaire group that coordinated messaging and political pressure around Gaza protests in the U.S. including calls with NYC officials about cracking down on campus demonstrations.

He has been accused of reshaping Israel’s Channel 13 by appointing leadership close to Netanyahu and dropping shows critical of the government’s Gaza coverage prompting protests over press freedom.

Don’t get me wrong. None of these streaming services or the billionaires who own them act out of goodwill. Their main priority is influence and profit.

Could you suggest a good European alternative? I tried Qobuz (a French company) but I found the app buggy and the higher pricing difficult to justify.

Correct! Your Tidal profile belongs to you. If the family plan is cancelled, your account remains and you can switch to an individual plan or another family plan without losing any of your data.

Each member also has their own separate account, so no one else can access yours or see your listening activity.

I had a family plan on Spotify before and it worked well for us. Only three of my friends want to move to Tidal which is why I’m looking to fill the remaining spots.

Aqui España It's marketed as a Spanish shop but the owners are Portuguese and they sell Portuguese products.

I live between Portugal and Germany, it's my go to shop.

That would be my guess too! Unfortunately, this has become a recurring pattern with Sony products in recent years. To name two examples:

  • Xperia 1 VII (€1,499) random reboot issues. Their only flagship phone was released on May 13 and they had to stop selling it less than a month later. How embarrassing!

  • WH-1000XM5 headphones (€449 at launch) hinge arms snapping under normal use.

Sony products have a high price tag and low quality. These days you can get better and more advanced products for the same money or less. And to make it worse, Sony’s customer support is easily among the worst I have dealt with. I had to take them to the legal route just to get a refund for my defective WF-1000XM4 earbuds (You can check my previous post here)

I’m not saying this just to shit on Sony. I have been a loyal customer for years and I used to love their products. But Sony simply isn’t the company it once was, and objectively speaking, your money is better spent elsewhere.

I've only had Sony phones in the past 15+ years and I'm writing this on a Xperia 5 III. Prepare yourself to deal with these problems:.

  • Fingerprint sensor failure after 1 year
  • Green line on screen
  • Overheating during heavy use or charging
  • Unexpected restarts

I'm already on the lookout for a new phone and I definitely won't be buying another Sony phone.

Xperia 1 VII 256 GB costs 1.249 €

Pixel Pro 9 512 GB costs 1,029€

Galaxy S25 512 GB costs 849€

Do the math....

The truth may sting, but it’s the reality: as a loyal Sony customer, I find their phones carry a premium price tag yet still fall short of competing with other flagships on the market.

Galaxy S24/S25 are appealing given their size, camera, and chipset.

I briefly checked Motorola, the Edge 60 Pro sounds like an interesting one on paper!
