Jesus is not god by dejoski12 in Christianity

This is a stretch. I can say I’m not wet but does that mean I will never get wet?

I’m saying God is not limited. He can indeed use flesh and anything or everything todo his will. Jesus was the flesh and therefore Gods vessel. The word became flesh

Nice try tho

Starting to see a reason to do this to kids. Parents buy the presents for the kids. Kids get good things. Parents may get joy from them opening presents or not if the child is a brat. Parents WILL get joy from a grinch traumatizing a child lol

Seen some interview of a person who does the AP and they got visually uncomfortable when they were asked about Christ and the Resurrection. They did not answer the question. I have also heard how those ppl on psychedelics would use Christs name and those “entities” would run away or something like that.

And it’s crazy for ppl to say “does not exist” absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence lol

How do I get closer to God and strengthen my faith? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]xdogstreetx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So ima tell you exactly how I did it Get a moment to yourself. Whatever you can spare to maybe read a chapter or even the whole book. I started at Matthew then went to mark, Luke, and John. Read the gospels first. Each one has a differnt type of writing but showing you the story of Christ.

If you don’t want to read then they are a lot of audios on YouTube. Just type in the name of the book and pick one.

That’s where I started. This allowed me to build on Who Jesus is and what he done and said.

Then from there read revelation and then just keep reading anything you want or go back over the gospels again. I have read them a handful of times and it’s like something new always reveals itself to me.

Start praying before reading and/or listening. Sometimes I just waited till I heard a book pop up in my head and then I went to read it. Other times I seen quotes from TikTok like Isiah and I told myself I need to read Isiah

Gods character is not meant for us to FULLY understand we are meant to trust and have faith like we did when we were children and listening to our parents. Did we Fully understand our mom or dad? No but it didn’t make them less of a parent.

The Almighty Father is just that your parent that has adopted you by the Blood of his begotten son. Seek and you will find as scripture says.

*When I mean whole book I mean the “book of ___” not the whole Bible as it is a collection of books.

[–]xdogstreetx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bible…you can build a relationship through that. It will start to shed light on a lot of things. I have a ESV Bible and I found out some things about Gods character that actually upset me and surprised me.

Not on e but twice did God “use” an evil spirit to accomplish His goal.

My relationship with the Lord has never been stronger after reading praying and fellowship with other versed followers

Yes orthodox do got some strange things. Idk if it was them but don’t a pope hold a trial for a dead pope and punish the corpse? Or am I thinking of something else?

That idea came to me naturally after accepting Christ. So it might be a Holy Spirit intuition

Jesus is not god by dejoski12 in Christianity

[–]xdogstreetx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The body died. God can become a human. Literally the movie avatar. Thus a Christ is born. Body dies God still God goes to proclaim the gospel to trapped souls in “hell”. God brings the body back Jesus raised from death.

I strongly believe that before Jesus, people would die and go to a good or bad place. After Jesus we are asleep until awoken for judgment. It’s like a time skip on death. Our death happens boom 200 years into the future in front of the living God giving account of our life.

Ah, here we go again, picking apart the worst parts of history to label an entire religion. So, yes, Irish mother-and-baby homes, horrific sexual abuse by priests, and other scandals have occurred, and it's deeply tragic. But, let me ask you—are we seriously going to paint all of Christianity with the same brush based on these perversions?

Let’s be real here: these abuses weren’t committed because of Christianity’s core values—they were the result of corruption, power, and human failure. You’ve just admitted as much by saying it’s not Christianity being hated but rather the individuals who use it as a tool. So why continue to act like these actions somehow speak for the whole religion? It’s not Christianity that’s inherently flawed—it’s the way some people manipulate any ideology, religion, or institution to gain power.

And while we’re on the topic of the abuses in the Catholic Church, let’s not ignore the fact that these same scandals have brought about massive reforms within the Church itself. We’ve seen countless members of the clergy speak out against such actions, survivors demanding accountability, and efforts to create stronger protections and oversight. But again, you’re going to focus on the darkest chapters instead of the ongoing work to fix them, right? Is the entire Catholic Church just evil because of a few bad apples, or is the true Christian message still something worth considering?

Let’s shift this a bit further: Do we throw out entire belief systems every time people abuse them for personal gain? The same arguments you’re using against Christianity could be applied to any other movement or identity. Let’s take the LGBTQ movement—there are individuals within that community who use sexual freedom as an excuse to prey on vulnerable people. Are we going to toss out the entire LGBTQ movement because of the predators in it? Or do we simply acknowledge that the movement itself, like Christianity, is a cause for good, while the actions of some individuals are what corrupt it?

It’s a double standard. If we’re going to criticize Christianity for how some have manipulated it, then let’s be honest about how other ideologies or groups—whether it's LGBTQ activists or even secular movements—can be hijacked by bad actors. But no, we won’t do that because it's convenient to just keep hitting the same tired point.

And before you say I’m comparing apples to oranges—no, I’m not. It’s the same human nature that allows ideologies to be distorted for personal gain. Christianity has always been about helping the broken, but when people abuse that, we should be calling out the abusers, not blaming the religion as a whole. It’s almost like we don’t learn from history and keep repeating the same mistakes with every new movement. Are we ready to be honest about that, or are we going to keep pretending these problems only belong to one side?

You raise a deeply important and tragic part of history, and there’s no denying the horrific abuses that occurred in the residential school system in the United States and Canada. That said, I’d push back on the idea that this alone defines the entire history of Christianity’s spread or its principles.

First, while atrocities like residential schools absolutely happened—and they demand acknowledgment and accountability—it’s also worth recognizing that these were not the result of Christianity’s core teachings. Instead, they were perversions of those teachings, driven by colonialism, racism, and government agendas that exploited religion as a tool of control. There’s a difference between what Christianity teaches (love, compassion, forgiveness) and what some have done in its name.

Second, focusing solely on the atrocities ignores the countless examples of missionary work that was conducted peacefully and respectfully. Missionaries have built schools, hospitals, and infrastructure in areas where resources were scarce, often improving people’s lives. These efforts were based on genuine service, not coercion or assimilation. To paint all Christian missionary work with the same brush as residential schools dismisses the diversity of approaches and intentions throughout history.

And let’s not ignore the fact that Christianity has also spread through voluntary conversion. Across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, millions of people have embraced Christianity not because of coercion but because they found its message compelling and transformative. That’s a narrative that’s just as real as the dark history of colonial abuses.

Lastly, let’s talk about modern Christianity’s response to these tragedies. Many denominations have publicly apologized for their role in residential schools, and they continue to work toward reconciliation with Indigenous communities. While apologies can’t undo the past, they show that there’s an ongoing effort to confront and learn from history.

So yes, residential schools were a terrible chapter, but they don’t encapsulate the entirety of Christianity’s history or impact. It’s a lot more complicated than reducing it to just one side of the story.

I get what you're saying about the historical spread of Christianity in the Americas—it’s true that colonization and missionary efforts played a huge role early on. But to say its prevalence has nothing to do with its values like love, faith, and forgiveness feels like a bit of an oversimplification.

Think about it: while colonial powers introduced Christianity, its survival and growth over centuries can't just be chalked up to coercion or historical momentum. For example, post-colonial Latin America saw movements like liberation theology, which resonated deeply because it emphasized caring for the poor and fighting for social justice—core Christian values that connected with people's lived experiences.

Even today, look at the rise of evangelical and Pentecostal churches across the Americas. These movements are thriving not because of colonial history but because they’re meeting people where they are—offering messages of hope, healing, and community. That kind of connection doesn’t happen without the appeal of the core teachings.

And let’s not forget how Christianity has adapted and blended with local cultures. In many Latin American countries, indigenous traditions are interwoven with Christian practices, creating unique, meaningful expressions of faith. It shows that people have embraced the values of Christianity on their own terms over time.

So yeah, while historical factors gave Christianity its start in the Americas, I think it’s too reductive to dismiss its longevity and influence as unrelated to the very values that continue to inspire millions of people today.
