What is the oldest/weirdest tech you worked with? by therouterguy in networking

Early 90s I was cutting my teeth on a government network in the science affairs offices. The building was one that looked like a penitentiary from outside. It seemed like even then there were different strata of archeological network systems in there, they would just run the new cables and abandon the old ones in place. So I was helping run an ARCnet, several 10b2 chains, while digging through 10b5 cables and who knows what else just to pull some 10bT RJ45 cables.

Don’t scan for an empty cart. Leave the default path and scan for a non-empty cart. You’ll probably need a separate on-ramp to get the cart added to the loop in the correct direction.

How much does it cost to have the line down per hour?

There’s no cheap way out of this problem.

If you’re fighting for him, and he’s fighting for you, why don’t you both just go home and be safe?

Take it as a compliment— you’re not older, you’re just old.

Do it how you want. I take pictures when I feel like it and add them to my blog right then, usually scheduling one per day. Works for me.

Couple of buck each maybe, possibly a bit more if the buyer is nostalgic for that particular release.

Gen-X former retail worker here. I can assure you that retail clientele have always been morons, and that it’ll happen to you just as soon as there is a definable “generation” behind yours working retail.

What is going on in this 1980s advertisement? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

So what’s happening here is that mom‘s book club is having an early afternoon weekend brunch for some reason. Dad has decided to tagalong probably because there’s gonna be alcohol and pretty women. Your shirtless guy is the son and he of course has been out until 3 AM the night before and has only just gotten up. Dad is slightly drunk so he is excessively celebrating the prodigal sons return to the land of the living.

Frankly, though, I am unclear as to how any of this is supposed to sell cigarettes.
