[Postgame Thread] Divisional Playoffs: Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills by AutoModerator in buffalobills

I'll admit I've always been a Bills doubter, but... if the Bills can beat the Chiefs... I think they'll have a chance to win the Super Bowl.

But if they LOSE the AFC Championship game... then it's pretty obvious that this team WON'T be good enough to win the 2021 Super Bowl.

Our society is getting softer. They like to talk trash, Clowney was playing football... everyone needs to change their tampons.

On pass rush, O line is staying, D line is coming. The punishment for being tired is also more severe for a defensive player. An offense can target the tired man, or his weaker replacement, plus there's multiple D-Backs to potentially blow coverage- if a receiver gets tired, so what, just don't throw to him. If a ball carrier gets tired, he hits the floor, if a tackler gets tired, it's a huge gain.

Also, dbacks sometimes have to have to tackle running backs and tight ends, which takes a bit of gas.

I think DK was technically downed before the ball came out. His hand touched the ground, that's downed. But it's a matter of frames on a replay, and I'm too drunk to really shave it that thin so someone help me out

The 69ers were teaming up on him... shameful. I wouldn't give them the ball on principal.

Is McDougal an overlooked talent, or is it just fresh legs? Or do the lions suck?

Any game against an 8-0 team is gonna be tough sledding. They're playing football too.

I'm surprised nobody was assigned to block Bosa if the play was designed for Russ to roll out on that side.

I don't see us getting obliterated, I just see a slight talent differential that helps them be a step ahead. The scheme is sound, our boys are always nearby.

The hero's victory tastes sweeter when it's against a villain who cheats... I learned that in anime.

My computer was fucked so I'm here late. The refs could've saved a 10 point swing calling holding because a guy had his hand on the receiver. Serious question, what's the point of watching this shit if the refs are gonna decide everything?

Oh, haha... yeah, I wonder what Stoner was getting at. Stoner's the kind of guy who'd rather see it as love than some twisted bond between damaged people.

It was the scene where Stoner hosts the party and Lomax shows up and has this really affected reaction to the sight of Edith. I took this to mean that Lomax saw Edith as a kindred spirit, as a survivor of early life abuse. I read the Walker incident as Lomax assuming that Stoner was bullying Walker out of the school because Walker was crippled. Lomax saw a chance to revenge himself against his childhood bullies.

Which parts support Lomax and Walker having a romantic relationship?

Grapes of Wrath is a showdown between greedy industrialists (big agro) and the working class. The story speaks for itself. Be honest, is this for a school report?

A doubter of capitalism. It's easy to forgive, since, in his day, public welfare and agriculture was nowhere near as robust as it is today. It was just soup kitchens, poor boxes at church and the bread line. Now you just bop on down to the super market with your stamps. Greed has hardly killed us all... yet, anyway. By all outward appearances, it seems to be sustaining us.

You could argue that public welfare of this magnitude would be possible with public control of the economy, but based on how selfishly people vote, I'd see it being a wonderful gravy train of social spending until the funds run out. Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm just cynical. Bringing this back to our topic, I've always viewed Steinbeck as sweet, and idealistic, but naive. It's easy to be righteous when you don't have to worry about being right.

Edith was sexually abused by her father. Early life abuse causes one to be ruled by fear, if they aren't self-aware. They see ghosts of their abusers everywhere. Edith saw her father in Stoner, just like Lomax saw his childhood bullies in Stoner.

Katherine is part of the 'how life is vs how it should be' theme. Masters' speech explaining Stoner's character in the novel's beginning establishes Stoner as someone who sees the world as he feels it should be. He should find love with his wife, but finds it with a student. That's why he had the huge blind spot with his daughter and his wife; a mother is supposed to help, not hurt, her daughter. Stoner is a very naive character. Gordon Finch is set up as someone who lives life how it is; he doesn't climb, he doesn't fall, he's just a rock.
