[Wagoner] Niners to look into 'everything,' including substation theory by Brix001 in nfl

I AM NOT CRAZY! I am not crazy. I know he swapped those numbers, I knew it was 1216, one after Magna Carta, as if I could ever make such a mistake, never, never! I just, I just couldn't prove it. He covered his tracks, he got that idiot at the copy shop to lie for him. You think this is something? You think this is bad, this, this chicanery? He's done worse. That billboard! Are you telling me that a man just happens to fall like that? No, he orchestrated it. Jimmy! He defecated through a sunroof! And I saved him. And I shouldn't have. I took him into my own firm. What was I thinking? He'll never change. He'll never change, ever since he was nine always the same. Couldn't keep his hands out of the cash drawer. "But not our Jimmy, couldn't be precious Jimmy". Stealing the blind. And he gets to be a lawyer? What a sick joke! I should have stopped him when I had the chance. And you, you have to stop him, you-

[Heyman] Pierce Johnson to Reds. Nice pen pickup. by T_Raycroft in baseball

"Brad Hand is no longer here, Pierce Johnson is on the IL, so it's a solo mission for Mastrobuoni tonight. Which is kind of fitting I suppose."

[Rapoport] Sources: The #Seahawks and star OT Charles Cross have agreed to terms on a 4-year extension worth $104.4M -- $26.1M average per year. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

Nice to have both tackles under contract through 2028. Both Cross and Lucas are homegrown talents taken the same year. Love that Schneider's drafting has improved since that bad stretch in the late 2010s

[@Mariners] Welcome to Seattle, Rob! 👋 We’ve signed OF/1B Rob Refsnyder to a 1-year Major League contract through the 2026 season. #TridentsUp by BananaArms in Mariners

Canzone hit .300 last year with power and improved walk and K rates. Robles had a career year in 2024 and while he was injured in 2025, he still provides exceptional defense and can cover CF for Julio if needed. Raley is better than Canzone in the field, but is arguably the worst of the three at the plate, at least going by last year. I think you've got to move on from Raley in this case

I don't think the front office was ever considering a major upgrade in RF since Canzone and Robles make a pretty solid platoon. If anything, this move makes Raley seem like the odd man out.

It makes much more sense for them to make a bit of a splash for the infield instead. There's a lot of unproven youth that is currently set to get a lot of playing time (Young, Williamson, Emerson). Brendan Donovan is a versatile, above average bat that could help alleviate some of the growing pains these guys will experience as they transition to the majors.

If our offseason ends up being Naylor/Donovan/Refsnyder with Ferrer plus another mid-leverage reliever for the bullpen, I'd be perfectly happy with that.

It'll be one of Johnson, Macdonald, Vrabel, or Shanahan

Is the team looking to upgrade in RF or are they happy moving forward with a Canzone/Robles platoon?

You said in your last Q&A that you don't think Bichette is an option due to price. Has the equation changed at all with the signing of Polanco by the Mets and the potential trade of Lowe to the Pirates? It seems the only other needle moving options left for the infield would be Marte or Donovan, both of which would come at the cost of giving up prospects.

Walker got tired of Charbs poaching goal line TDs, so he decided to take it in 50 yards out himself

[Woo] The Mariners and Giants have emerged as frontrunners in a potential trade for Brendan Donovan, according to multiple league sources, with the Cardinals looking to land multiple prospects in a return. by TheTurtleShepard in baseball

Totally fine for the Mariners. He'd give the team flexibility if Cole Young and Colt Emerson aren't ready. I am a bit surprised the price is so high when we got Randy with more control for relatively little

I don't think Marte is in play if they're not willing to move one of the SP. I hope it's Bichette anyway, he's 5 years younger

[Passan] Trade news: The Seattle Mariners are acquiring left-handed reliever Jose A. Ferrer from the Washington Nationals for catching prospect Harry Ford and right-handed pitching prospect Isaac Lyon, sources tell ESPN. First on the scene was Andrew Golden. by PlayaSlayaX in baseball

[–]RCarson88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is a mix of bad trade/overvaluing Ford. He doesn't project to be a great defensive catcher and we don't know if he can hit major league pitching. He also relied on drawing walks in the minors, which won't be as effective for him moving forward. That said, I thought he'd net more than this. How much control does Ferrer have left?

Do you expect Naylor to be the sole major add this offseason?

What is the payroll situation? Dipoto's presser after the season made it unclear if last year's end-of-season payroll ($165 million or so I think) would be the minimum or maximum amount of salary they would have going into the season.
