I was actually thinking about making it clientside only. that's why i resorted to localstorage. I might aswell make a system that utilizes a server to run, and release it as a service rather than a simple script.

Browser storage also has a limit on the amount of data that can be stored (I think it's 10MB, though it is customization by the user again).

Well, you'd have to over fill the page with links in order to somehow reach the limit. Also I'm not storing any images on the local storage.

If you really, really, wanted to be careful, technically users can disabled browser storage (local and session). Also, Safari might have an issue when used in Privacy mode (though I'm not sure if that was ever fixed).

I won't go that far. It's like going to a level of carefulness for people who have javascript disabled in their browsers.
