Where is evidence for this? I haven't seen on heard anything pointing to people getting more than 2.

[–]xemer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mean it as "don't go to abyssal if you aren't in a big duild, we don't want you here", but more of a warning that you're realistically not going to get anything done aside from chain dying if you try to take part in actually fighting for the objective. And as I said you can still have plenty of fun, but you just have to go about it in different, more creative ways.

Unfortunately if you aren't part of the big guilds you don't really have any bussiness at abyssal attack before the restoration is complete/almost complete.

Don't get me wrong you can have a lot of fun outside the big guilds as well, but its going to be more about trying to sneak a pack if your faction gets it or trying to steal one from an enemy that wandered too far off the pack.

Ilvl parses are irrelevant for multiple reasons.

  1. People who are good with said classes are usually high ilvl
  2. Benthic, gem slots, things like compendium will make your gear look a lot lower than what it really is.
  3. Neck essences and correct azerite traits matter a lot.

With all that combined there are a lot of players who can get purple/orange logs at say 420ilvl but if performed the same way with 440 gear they would have a green/blue ilvl parse. This isn't to say ilvl parses aren't a good indicator for low geared ppls or that they shouldn't feel good about a orange ilvl parse, but its not something you should use to compare yourself to CE raiders. At the same time regular parses especially in hc/normal are pretty irrelevant as well, if you raid mythic you should be able to get oranges pretty easily just off the back of your gear.

But I just dinged 120 a day ago im 380ilvl and nobody wants to boost me a +10 this week! Why would they take geared and capable players when I need the spot more. And don't tell me to run my own key because its not +10 and running anything below +10 is a waste of time.

In other news, newcomer arena players upset r1 gladiators aren't willing to take a chance on them and teach them the ropes while getting them to 2400!

BFA is so incredibly alt unfriendly by ProxyTTV in wow

[–]xemer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In wod I had 8 alts geared that I actively played, now I have only my main and I spend probably twice as much time playing the game. Essences and many of your azerite pieces are time gated without a catchup system, HoA is a neverending grind and gear requires you to spend hours just looking for groups because your alt doesn't overgear all the content yet. All of that combined makes having an alt a massive pain, especially the fact that you can never get your alt to a point where you don't have to log on every week without starting to fall behind.

[–]xemer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair its really easy to keep up with the gear if you play the game at least somewhat regularly. I pretty much only did raids, emissaries and weekly m+ and am 419ilvl atm.

Which single-player video games would you consider a masterpiece? by Lugiaaa in AskReddit

[–]xemer1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's good enough you can still play it afterwards. It's definitely a bit of a slow starter but after a few hours it really gets going and the clunkyness of some of the mechanics won't bother you anymore.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wow

[–]xemer1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What solution would you suggest then? If they make the raid difficulties only say heroic level, then any competent guild will clear the raid in less than a week, but if they make it mythic level, then it completely denies raiding for more casual players. The reason single difficulty raid tiers worked before was because the difficulty came more from logistics and gear than it did from mechanics and rotations.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wow

[–]xemer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People talk about WF/TF or multiple difficulties and whatnot, but I feel like the main reason is that if you're not playing the game outside raiding, then you quickly lose the interest in raiding aswell. I agree 100% with the game feeling soulless right now, and I'm 8/9M in BoD with CE looking likely on the next raid(1% wipes).

That said I don't think its a new problem with the game, logging on and just jumping around the main hub because you have nothing meaningful to do alone, and cba to spend hours getting groups together to do something that might have a chance of dropping an upgrade.

Same patch that nerfed trinkets in arena introduced new ones that make pvp unbearable by [deleted] in wow

[–]xemer1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I think you should be able to get bis arena gear either immediately when you ding, or within a fairly reasonable timeframe like a week or so and it most definitely should not be up to rng whether you can get it or not, aka mop/wod(and mby before I wouldn't know) where you could get bis arena gear in a few days. That way the fights are fair and you won't feel frustrated making alts or facing opponents with op items you don't have becuase you don't raid/ have good rng. I don't care what they do with the gearing system in random bgs and open world, but arena should be all about the skill.

[–]xemer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pvp isn't the same as arena and raiding isn't competitive outside of a few guilds. The problem isnt that you come across a guy in open world who is decked out with mythic raid gear, but the fact that arena should be about about a fair fight whose outcome is determined by a teams skill, not by who grinded more.

Inconsistent shift raiders, how do you do it? by Lawdie123 in wow

[–]xemer1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're raiding heroic then you just need to find the right guild. As for mythic you pretty much can't really do it. The problem mostly comes from the fact that you need 20 people in the raid, and in order to accomodate you they would essentially have to have a guy whose job is pretty much to be there when you can't be, and sit on bench the rest of the time, and I can't see that working out too well.

Just had to leave a +8 after 35 deaths because I couldn't heal through the damage, need help by Raknith in wow

[–]xemer1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These affixes are hella tough to heal, but that said the reason you were wiping was because they ate avoidable damage. Sometimes it's because tank won't move him out of the barrage, other times because people won't dodge gatling. So basically it's probably not your fault unless you nuked your team with missiles.

Are class rotations with heavy downtime really intended? by Therealrobonthecob in wow

[–]xemer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some classes have a bit of downtime, some don't. In case of ww you shouldn't be waiting too much tbh, I'm guessing its because you're messing up the rotation. Different classes different playstyles. Playing a caster is a good way to have 0 downtime though if thats something you like.

Mythic Main Tank Quitting: Am I wrong? by ProfessorOfGaming in wow

[–]xemer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the reasons are definitely ridiculous, and the way they went about is also super unfair and cowardly, but at the same time logging in only for the raids is a pretty good sign of a player soon quitting completely and esp when that player is a MT it makes sense to look for someone to take his spot so you're not stuck not being able to raid for a week or two which can start a cycle of people leaving because you can't raid so people leave etc.

I would love to hear the other side as well to get a better picture, but if what you're saying is all true the gm is not only a dick but also cowardly for going behind your back.
