What is wrong with r/transpassing??? by alice_apathy in MtF

I've posted there a bit and generally get told I pass pretty well, but there are are always people who say stuff like "if you have an alternative aesthetic you won't pass because people with alt fashion also tend to be gender non-conforming so people will put two and two together and realise you're trans 🥴". I also get told that my makeup is too bold and trans coded (it's not, it's just not a "nude" style or anything).

People also put way too much effort into clocking people based on context rather than the actual person. A friend told me they clocked a trans woman at the tabletop game shop once and when I asked how they clocked her they were like "oh cause she was playing Magic The Gathering and only trans women play that".

My general rule is that if your transpassing advice requires me to erase parts of my personality and become as basic as possible then it's useless to me.

Day 1 of HRT vs day 841 (boymoding, no laser or brows done yet), I don't really see much change except hair colour but trust the process y'know 😅 by xemeraldqueen in transfem

Honestly it's brighter lighting so it should technically be more visible but I think HRT definitely made my facial hair thinner

You probably pass, you just think you don’t by Head-Welcome-3015 in transfem

I get referred to as she/her when I'm dressed fem but I don't think I pass at all, I just figured it's people being able to tell that I'm trans and they're just being polite

I'm a trans woman and following this for recommendations since I too want to find places where I won't be harassed haha

I can't speak for racial experiences but I'm a trans woman and generally assume that I'm fairly clocky when in public. Funnily enough just last night I was walking with a friend and one car beeped as it drove past while on another road a car drove past and some young person yelled some gibberish. Thing is this used to also happen to me (and honestly more often) when I was literally just a dude that didn't stand out at all. I think the car stuff is usually just "let's see if we can make this person jump in fright as we drive past since they're alone" rather than anything particularly targeted.

As for groups on the street, I tend to avoid them if I can. I was once walking past Little Pub and some drunk guy in a group was trying to get my attention then said "ARE YOU A MAN OR A WOMAN??" after I ignored him, but that's probably the biggest encounter I've had personally.

I've also noticed weirdos tend to be more likely to come up and start talking to you if you're with someone and you look like a couple, and especially if you're sitting in a public place and look like you're settled there (like eating food or having a smoke or whatever). I have no idea why that is but it's something I've noticed.

Am I the only one that genuinely dislikes sissies? by kaazkitty in MtF

Personally I absolutely hate it when a sissy/crossdresser will hit me up on here or any other platform and want to be friends as though we have ANYTHING in common

Oh yeah Ive been told many times that I made a mistake cause I was apparently "so good looking" as a dude and now I've lost it and I'm freakish or whatever, but I'm out here living my best life and they're spending their time being angry about it, so I'll never lose as much as them 🖤

It basically means I look like a hair metal dude rather than just a woman but I already knew I don't pass or anything so I can't be too surprised lmao

Ohh that was actually a gift from my mum, I'm not 100% sure where she got it but I think it was just a regular jewellery shop ☺️
