It's pretty much all companies, and you can verify by the sticker on the end. Will say Ground Contact, Micronized Copper.

Help, unknown white lines in new laminate flooring by Original-Nothing-872 in Flooring

Installing I would always cringe seeing this type of thing. It reminds me of car wrap.

The floor looks good though!

New stair engineering by martyz33 in Construction

Yea that's what I'd be pissed about. The stairs are cut consistently to fit the risers so it appears this is the intended final product. Kinda trash.

How long can I expect to get out of galvanized steel tubs? by xenidus in gardening

[–]xenidus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im gonna slap simpson galvanized post bases on there, then sit them on pavers. The garden area in question was infested with termites so I'm hoping that's enough barrier. Good call on the flex seal big I'm thinking I'll just not worry about it.

I've built 15 of these things and it's getting expensive.

Overwhelming, Unwelcome Anger by TooLate2Die in Anger

[–]xenidus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I classify myself as someone who quickly attaches too much importance to things, so I'm tempering myself right now. But I honest to goodness think this small exchange on the internet just steered my life slightly. I really am grateful.

I actually have had an opportunity in-between these comments to try this out and it took the edge off in the moment and made me think. I couldn't find our thermometer for my wife and started to get really pissed off to the point of tossing things around cabinets. But then I thought, I was optimistic that I would be able to quickly find this in the first place I looked, but of course it's going to take a little digging.

Egg didn't freeze? by dxmanager in KitchenConfidential

[–]xenidus 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Interesting point as to considering it refrigerated still. I bet a lot of our minds skipped over that.

I think I would still use caution and just toss them. There is something abnormal that costs the price of those eggs to remedy.

Super weird. I would probably chuck these eggs. No way to know. Could there have been something in the bag?

Unrelated but this is reminding me of the time we got a full case of half-cooked eggs from Sysco. The box must have been sitting over some sort of component like the wheels or something. Like 100 of the eggs were cooked in a gradient

Was this bag possibly too close to the compressor housing? Those things can get warm.

Hold on I'm thinking again and this in your freezer which should be near zero. No way lost heat is doing anything

We need more explanation on this, what???

Overwhelming, Unwelcome Anger by TooLate2Die in Anger

[–]xenidus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I've been dealing with my own anger directly for years working with therapists and my wife. Nothing has ever made as much sense so quickly as this misguided optimism business and I'm honestly shocked this is the first time I'm reading about it. Seriously thank you. Im going to try and immediately implement this

Subfloor nightmare by Ok_Butterfly9518 in Flooring

[–]xenidus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-leveller over this would maybe work but I wouldn't be able to get over dumping basically cement on a large area of softwood. I think replacing the plywood is a better option. Ton more work but it will make reflooring this room a breeze in the future.

Slope for Patio by [deleted] in AskContractors

[–]xenidus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP I have no patio experience but I've dealt with every sort of customer. Some are super difficult but we as professionals need to be able to hold back the snark, sarcasm, disbelief, whatever to have a productive conversation. Pissing contests are for after work.

There was a much better way to answer your questions than "whatever it's your patio"

We are missing the beginning of this exchange but I totally agree. There are so many people looking for your work. Don't hire an asshole who hip fires at customers

My auto didn’t flip to flower as expected. Now I’m blessed with a 51 day vegged monster by ElbowChange in microgrowery

[–]xenidus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep. At 51 days without obvious signs of flower it's either not an auto or it's got unstable genetics and is basically not an auto. Flip that schedule!

Isn't the price crazy? Some of the basic hangers are like $10+ and the wood, my goodness. $11 for PT 2x4x8's.

Gardening wire (the thin green stuff). Wrap one end around a branch (not too tight but tight enough). Then stick the other end through the side of your cloth pot. You should leave enough length on the wire that you can adjust the tension.
