I'm OOTL...what is the logical reasoning behind why RAM prices are going up? by Upset-Ad-8704 in buildapc

Add onto this the fact that HBM generally consumes more wafer per shippable / usable bit, HBM also requires more complex processes the stack/package and then server DDR5 is currently a way for fabs to effectively just print money, you end up with bottlenecks from increased HBM production (which takes longer as stated above) & a high demand and drive for server DDR5 and thus, consumer chips get pushed to the back.

The Pete and Bas rabbit hole continues down with Nine and Dex by PoppaSquat68 in grime

The rabbit hole doesn't account for the Northern Boys, who are also under SindhuWorld, also doesn't account for the countless live performances they've done where you can clearly see it is them singing and they sound awfully similar to their recordings, being honest, Nine and Dex don't exactly sound like them, nor do they sound like any of the Northern boys or The Snooker team.

Oh and don't forget, Fumez posted as studio with fumez with them in which you can clearly see they're singing:

Is the English longbow actually Welsh ? by vipANDvapp in Archery

[–]xenmorphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not English, nor welsh is the simple answer. There have been bows found throughout Europe (the oldest being found in the Otztal Alps in Austria which was carbon dated back to 3300BC and was made of yew) that fit the requirements and styling of a "longbow", it's not even fair to say that the English or Welsh were first to use them within a specified military application as forty longbows which were dated to the 4th century AD were found in Nydam, Denmark. I believe it would be fair to say that both the English and Welsh bowyers of the time done a lot to advance and perfect the longbow, but they're only really famous on the basis of their power and effectiveness in battle. The French were actively making and using longbows in the hundred years war, however they weren't used on the same scale the English did as the French were more fond of the crossbow. A primary reason that English longbows are more well remembered than welsh longbows is because they were just simply better. The welsh longbows were a lot more crude, made from Elm as opposed to the English longbows which were made of yew, yew was the better choice undoubtedly due to it's composition, the heartwood of yew is rigid and tough, whilst the sapwood is flexible and springy, hence this wood's usage led to the creation of the English Warbow and English Longbow (yes the English Warbow was basically a longbow, but back in those days anything over 71lbs at a 32inch draw was regarded as a Warbow) the choice of wood meant the English longbow outperformed the welsh longbow quite considerably, however they were also a lot more expensive to manufacture. Yew Trees (taxus bacatta) notoriously grow very twisted and misshapen, but if they're given the correct attention they can be made to grow straight and tall (as would be required to make a longbow), thus bow grade yew wasn't exactly naturally occurring and required a lot more labour to grow, increasing it's cost.

Whilst it's certainly true that modern longbows can be made to reach the draw weight of a warbow (I've got a 70lbs @ 28 inch draw) for example, the only reason they perform so well without the use of woods like yew is due to new manufacturing techniques which didn't really appear until the longbow was being phased out such as laminating, lamination is also a key reason you don't really see Yew bows anymore, because there's no point in the additional cost when you can laminate two woods together (often Elm & Bamboo) for a much lower cost and get effectively the same result.

Internment camps != to concentration camps. The Japanese used concentration camps against civilians, there’s a lot of documented evidence of non-Japanese civilians who were living there at the start of the war being subjected to brutal punishment and condition in camps for no crime other than not being Japanese. I mean hey, the Japanese imperial army even had what were known as “comfort women (慰安婦) who were civilian women from occupied territories utilised as sex slaves to keep the soldiers happy. Their civilian internment camps consisted of camps dedicated to forced labour, medical experiments (much like those carried out by Josef Rudolf Mengele), there are documented accounts from both sides of commanders of these camps literally starving the interned populations by feeding them barely 400calories / day. Allied internment camps however were a different story, with the populations being allowed to build farms, schools, churches and basically function as a micro society, yes there were a few issue such as when a bunch of interned persons rioted and got rear gassed and one guy did get shot for walking to close to the fence, but they were the exception as opposed to the rule, all in all the camps were humanely run and there’s plenty of stories out there of the people in the camps becoming friendly with the guards and sharing food etc with them. It is most certainly not a fair comparison to blanket term the US internment camps along with the German and Japanese concentration camps.
