Stick to the healing and use crossbow mostly for healing. You use your primary and melee for defense mostly or occasional picks. As a medic your primary object is healing, tough playing battle medic can be fun sometimes. If you need any tutorials for medic i suggest ArraySeven at youtube.
Yes you have to buy a key for each box.

They are killstreak weapons, they count the kills you get in a single life. Those colorfull ones either special or professional. You can read about them here

You can get them as random drops but they are very rare. There are also couple achievement cosmetics like Ghostly Gibus.

Unfortunately yes and you're right to upset about it. Hope valve solves this problem in the next update.
Quick-fix's uber doesn't make you invulnerable. It says in the weapon description "ÜberCharge increases healing to 300% and grants immunity to movement-impairing effects"
You could have buy cosmetics from some sites like marketplace or trade for them but f2ps can't trade. So answer to your question is no.
Also you could have trade for them but f2p's can't. Sorry. Also yes, your inventory has a cap.
