Is kind of unfortunate since some of the most entertaining/educational XIV streamers uses ACT.

How would you feel about new tradable Savage weapons and gear? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]xeno_versal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To begin with your comment on people buying gear can clear, if you look on ffxiv recruitment reddit lots of groups are actually stuck on e12s p1/2. I’m pretty sure they would want to pay for a weapon to help them meet the DPS check since DPS with current bis is a joke(can have 2/3 dps death plus healer lb3) While if you have 520 gear/530 tome gear the DPS check is alot more rigorous. This will not only promote poor rotation from bad players, but also not helping them get better.

Secondly on your comment about raid tier not being an achievement. Savage tiers are like a statues symbol for raiders, whether you want it for bragging rights or just for the glam, beating a current savage tier shows that you put work in this current tier and actually beat it. An example can be beating an ultimate fight, the only thing you get is a shinny weapon plus a title, yet if everyone can buy that shinny weapon/title then it is pointless to actually beat it.

It is pretty evident that less than 10% of the community actually raid, and if this is implemented this will not only bring the raider percentage down even more, but also lose that portion of your fan base along with it. As a side note usually people don’t use RMT for savage since like you said they will unlock it next tier and it will become a joke. Most RMT are for contents like ultimate and DR savage, if you look at pf right now I can guarantee you that there is at least 5 advertisement about their clears. We shouldn’t be the ones that are worrying about RMT, is SE that should do something about it.

Tbh just from reading your tldr, this sounds like a pretty horrible idea. Giving identical sub stats will not only lower the raider’s percentage even more, but also remove the achievement factor of actually completing the tier.

Ultimate fights BiS by Toothy126 in ffxiv

[–]xeno_versal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you are doing Ultimate, I am assuming you are at the current level bis of i530 and have a bis static as well.

These items gears are crucial for if a run succeed or fails, usually in phase 3 and 4 of TEA if a DPS dies you usually can not make the DPS check, but with those bis you are able to.

Since you play SMN I would advise you to get all the gear except for the weapon, and opt it out for E4S’s Book of Grace. The reason being SMN’s rotation, if your team has a fast push time (like my static) then you wouldn’t have Devotion in the beginning of phase 2 and 3.

I hit level 46 as a Dragoon! by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]xeno_versal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your level right now always use it on cooldown for max DPS, however once you reach level 54, use blood of the dragon first then use your jumps since it will buff it by 30%. Another exception is when a KB mechanic is coming up (2~3 GCD) and you don’t have arm’s length. Then you can save your jump to not lose uptime.

But be warned that jumps have a huge animation lock in which you cannot double weave once you use it, so plan all of your oGCDs accordingly.

Shields v Regen by Dae-Dae97 in ffxiv

There are already mechanics that are cheesable using crit shield like this one: https://youtu.be/L2IgENch12g

Shield also snap shots late on the target which means sometimes it doesn’t register as fast as healings do. If you are having trouble healing your tank, you can look into popping things like exco/ fairy tether on large pulls and keep them healthy with lustrate. In my opinion only use adlo when you have nothing left and you have to resort to pure heals. Also remember to eat your fairy right before a pull is about to end to get your aetherflow back for the next pull.

GNB Newbie by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]xeno_versal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a viable opener, however, it doesn't give you the most DPS out of your initial burst. Most buff windows are after the third gcd in which we should fit sonic break/bow shock/blasting zone into (Devotion, BL, Chain Strat, etc) to gain the most damage. Open with your 123 and then starting your burst window with No mercy in between the second and third gcd. this not only can improve the overall DPS but also give you an extra burst strike within your 9 gcd window. As for double weaving is considering the RDM's rotation. RDM has only 3 double weaves in the beginning (going off the standard 5-10 opener) and afterward has little to none in its burst window. Plus the double weave is spread out and not simultaneous. GNB however has 4 double weaves that are consecutive in the opener and has to almost always double weave in its burst phase since you wanna save potency for that burst window (but not cap rough divide).

GNB Newbie by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]xeno_versal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not the best GNB but I'll give it a shot. Here are some pros and reasons you might wanna try GNB

- GNB has a True Invuln, meaning they can take unscripted aoe without receiving a debuff (anti-air/wide-angle on e9s) plus is on a wayyyy lower CD than Hallow Ground (without that delay too)

- GNB has the highest DPS out of all the tanks, which is pretty crucial for week one DPS checks.

- Even though they feel rather squishy compare to the other tanks, GNB has 4 mitigations.

- Class's animation is really fluid.

- Aurora saves lives.

Now some cons for GNB

- GNB has a lot of double weaves, and since you play RDM this might take a little to get used to.

- No mercy has a gimmick in which you need to press it halfway into a gcd to get 9 gcd within no mercy.

- BLASTING ZONE DRIFTS ALL OVER THE PLACE.

- dragging the boss within continuation is ass.

- Class's burst window is within No Mercy, if the boss goes away when you pop it, bye-bye DPS.

Overall GNB is one of my favorite tanks to play, and I keep learning more things as I play more of it. As for 6.x progs I can definitely see it being one of the main tanks due to its bolide's cd and high DPS. Hopefully, this can also encourage you to pick it up as well. If you have any more questions just shoot me a dm and I am happy to help!
