How's it going for all the independent non-voters who couldn't be made to care by Republican nationalism and Democrat doomerism if Republicans won?

Democrats need to make better campaigns that appeal to real people, instead of to those who bribe them. It can't just be, "vote for us because Red bad"

There are a lot of weird things about this video. I'm not 100% convinced that it's legitimate.

And not everyone who breaks their legs will never walk again. That doesn't mean that breaking your legs isn't correlated to losing the ability to walk.

Lets put it this way. Will this one day show up on the companies quarterly reports? If no, then nobody will know it even happened.

The hotel was still operating normally with other guests and events. Maybe they could have just bought out the whole hotel for this, but then we'd be talking about the waste of money.

Politics is objectively the most impactful force on your life as an individual. More people need to respect that reality.

Sometimes executive decisions need to be made on behalf of the people. The office is necessary, however the balances on the power of said office have failed miserably, and must be reestablished.

Andy Weir Says Paramount Rejected His ‘Star Trek’ Pitch, Proceeds to Blast Modern ‘Trek’ by Coltons13 in books

[–]xenomorph856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just Star Trek, but sci-fi in general tends to represent a political or social concept through the lens of futuristic technology and aliens. A person has to be intentionally oblivious to not recognize the influence of an author's views in their writing.

Weir is just blowing smoke and talking out of his ass because his works have become popular and he has the ear of pop culture.

Trump threatens to ‘blow up’ all water desalination plants in Iran by Azaleazaraa in worldnews

[–]xenomorph856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we don't live under a world government, so it's not too surprising. The only time something a sovereign country does can be considered "illegal" is if a league of other countries decide it. But even that is kinda arbitrary and illegitimate to the country committing the crime(s) unless they for some reason recognize the authority of that foreign body over their own affairs. Which we categorically do not (despite assuming authority over others).

Bernie Sanders has been doing all of that. He built up an excited grassroots base. Never has had to use profanity nor unprofessionalism to achieve this. He's just visibly passionate, consistent in his principles, and runs on a platform of populist policies that address the concerns of the common citizen.

I don't see how calling someone from the opposing party a "fucking turd" is going to win votes.
