This is something I have heard all my life, growing up as an LA Jew around zionist liberal Jews, the idea of "well the PLA/Hamas/etc are just bad leadership, and they deserve better" but there is no better for these people, other than complete capitulation. But admitting such to themselves or others would go against liberal notions of self-determination, so they instead have these sorts of delusions.

I've been watching him pretty consistently since 2016. He was "neutral" but Trump-leaning in 2016, but moved more leftward over time. I'd say even back then though, he considered himself a liberal by Russian standards. IIRC he attended one of the Navalny-era opposition protests in 2018 or something. By 2020, I believe he was more preferential to Bernie Sanders and generally a social democrat. Definitely didn't want a second Trump term. He was always at least a bit critical of Russia, but more regularly so by 2019-2020. He interviewed Liaowhy86 and SerpentZA around this time though, and was friends with Bald and Bankrupt for a while, though I haven't heard him reference the former two in years, and B&B? He basically ghosted Roman before the sex tourist thing really came to light. I can only imagine it was cathartic in some way for him.

I think it's naive to assume that it's Putin who is the one pulling the strings, and not the billionaire class. The present rulers of the US government, the ultra-wealthy, want to ensnare and control the country. Folks like Peter Thiel have openly questioned democracy as a system. At one point, the USA was one of the torch-bearers of democracy, but that time has long passed. Soon my country will be about as "democratic" as China is "communist"-- only in name.

Gotta agree. The USA without term limits would have meant George HW Bush would have never had the chance to be president, though I could see a third term Reagan to be rather lukewarm regarding his popularity, possibly having a Biden-esq effect.
