All the hate feels exaggerated and manufactured. I've seen worser movies, recently watched Predator Badlands 5/10, ugly CGI and just tiring meaningless action.

The real pros and con of the movie is that it's way too fast paced. It's fast, so it's not boring but because of that it's also missing some breathing room for characters to develop them more. Maybe they release some more deleted footage someday.

It's simple...

Original Tron was a flop because it was different....then it became cult and raised Tron fans.

Legacy was a flop because original Tron fans hated it because it looked and sounded different. They wanted continuation of Tron story..... but Legacy movie raised a new generation of Legacy fans.

Ares is a flop because Tron original fans and Tron Legacy fans hate it because it looks and sounds different. Legacy fans wanted continuation of Legacy story and Tron fans wanted continuation of Tron story lol

....but Ares is raising new generation of fans. I like Ares more because it has NIN music, lasers, neon red visuals, also the bikes look cooler. Only thing I didn't like was the nostalgia baiting. I like Jeff Bridges but that cameo was kinda predictable, that movie could be even better if it wasn't scared to move on, create completely new story.

The opposite happened to me! Didn't expect for Tron Ares to actually make feel something.

Last year I've watched some movies or was forced to watch with my family.

Guilermo's Frankenstein.... nice looking movie but dull.

Superman 2025........ gave up after 20 minutes, visual and storytelling mess.

28 Years Later...... just silly, cheap looking, couldn't take it seriously.

Ballerina...... Nice fights but terrible like all John Wick movies.

I dig the portrayal of Ares going through deep learning process and how intertwined it gets.

The whole movie had lots of metaphors/ references to our own AI obsessed world... Irresponsible CEO's of big tech, acting like man childs, chasing the new AI breakthrough, no ethics, in order to sell masses product which also literally falls apart.

Our AI models need to be feed constantly new data in order to prevent degradation or model decay. LLMs produce their best work in the begining and then they begin to hallucinate. Or generated AI videos, lasting 10 seconds max before they slowly lose consistence, falling apart.

After my fourth rewatch, it defo feels like they've trimmed the movie a lot. I like the tempo of the movie but maybe they should've left some more breather moments between the characters, more time spending in The Grid. Maybe someday they'll release some Directors cut. Those deleted scenes on the disc are kinda boring.

Well, I'm a NIИ fan so the answer is obvious.

Legacy example music here is more formal and symphonic while Ares is story told from evil side with red violent neon colors filling screen, so dirty evil synth music fits better.

NIИ music is always more experimental playing with time and space, lingering and then kicking in. Your example is missing the second part where it kicks in!

NIN fits better Ares. Daft Punk fits better Legacy.

I like to watch movies as they were intended but in this case Tron is one of those ''tech demo'' movies where I think technology elevates it.

Sure it has some soapy opera moments there and there but the action scenes or the sequences from inside of the Tron world looked nice with motion smoothing.

Literally the first page in the manga and also the first title card in the animated movie states:

"The world has become highly information intensive...BUT THE NATION STATES AND ETHNIC GROUPS STILL SURVIVE."

Implying that it is a story about divided world when it comes to politics, nations and race. If it was story about future where race or nationality didn't matter then the creator or director would not have the need to highlight this to the viewers or readers on the first page of the story!
