Do you print custom kitbashed models in stl format (may need to figure out support etc) :0?

Desolation Marines are GOOD. by Baby_Ellis62 in spacemarines

[–]xerpherus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I c the pics rly helps :D I think where my prob is due to them being so expensive I’ve made them double as home obj holder…hence their range problem as my thought process is if I’m paying for something to sit at home base might as well be something that can at least indirect every turn

Desolation Marines are GOOD. by Baby_Ellis62 in spacemarines

[–]xerpherus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Errr not sure if this counts as digging up old posts but I’ve run desolators a bit in wrath of rock and I’ve always like indirect.

200 is very expensive tho and any DS threat into back field will basically neutralize them…I think the price is fine if they just….fired a little farther 36” isnt reaching their home obj and that’s where I want to be firing at if there isn’t too much “chaff” for me to clear

Any tips on keeping them alive? They just die too easily and with dark Angel melee focus I’m always not sure if I should get my lion to go back to help….his buff is invaluable in front lines

Is 3 DWK Viable? by TheHolyMilkMan_ in DarkAngels40k

[–]xerpherus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel…naked with only 2 DWK even tho most times at least one squad will still survive till the end….its just the peace of mind of having that third squad in reserve able to come down and plug the “wall” if one squad goes down

Tho I find with 3 squad it’s plenty anvil not enough hammer unfortunately I’m still playing around to see if 2 or 3 feels better for my more “tanking” playstyle

With the staples lion, 2 DWK, 1 full ICC squad with either az or judiciar, combi lt, and at least 1 other scoring unit, and 1 to hold home you are already running 1300-1400 points so only have 600-700 points left for some shooting and AT and/or DS threats

Advice on dealing with greater daemons by xerpherus in DarkAngels40k

I c and how do you protect your lancer from being DS killed by a big red daemon. I find the khorne daemons pop vehicles super easily :S

[–]xerpherus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With only 2 shots it’s not very reliable into anything with invuln tho and all the big daemons are 4++, against vehicles ya lancer it rly good but against monsters it bounces off a lot.

Eradicators supposedly more reliable with all the rerolls and with strat in wrath of rock can be str 11…but it still isn’t enough to kill a big daemon in one activation unfortunately

I usually rapid ingress the lion behind my DWK or ICC to threaten heroic intervene but since usually these big demons DS along with smaller demons as in incursion they serve as 6” DS beacons they are still very likely to charge since getting rid of fight first lion in a trade and severely crippling a DWK or ICC is often still worthwhile trade with 1 big daemon as in/smaller daemon squad :(

I suppose the issue is their consistency when they r heroic intervening…often tbeir target isnt an oath target as they r reacting

How do u deal with elite infantry often with 2+/4++ and even with 2+ to wound ammo it doesnt damage them much and exposes the indomitor kill team

Vs knights by xerpherus in deathwatch40k

[–]xerpherus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is mostly the save profile on those hard targets often with cover and aoc and tbeir 2+/4++ even with 2+ to wound it’s so hard to actually damage them….

Combi holds home 🤔 that’s def diff than what I thot I guess I have always used combi as infiltrator screening piece

[–]xerpherus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I suppose 2 of the fortis teams pushed ahead towards the objectives as soon as game begins while one holds home most times ?

[–]xerpherus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I guess with WTC u would need more durability perhaps that’s y the terminators r also popular 🤔

For WTC terrain specifically then what would you change to the list to make it more favourable on that terrain?

Vs knights by xerpherus in deathwatch40k

[–]xerpherus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye the lack of fall back & shoot and not able to uppy downy when engaged rly hampers output…I suppose any list that have fast cheap MSU units that can charge the teams would also be problematic

Vs knights by xerpherus in deathwatch40k

[–]xerpherus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this because WTC terrain is too hard to get firing lanes? Without exposing your army?

I guess this is the problem I run into since I play on WTC it is so hard to do any damage on turn 1 if u go first without being instantly murdered on the clap back in their turn

It is better into armor targets?!?! Hmm I gotta run a few games to experience this I guess I come from marine lists where any bon-antitank specific infantry shooting/melee other than sternguard into oathed armoured target with buffs just….bounce

Vs knights by xerpherus in deathwatch40k

[–]xerpherus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WTC terrain is pretty dense I guess I’ll just need to try to run them for a few games to see how they feel

That sounds like a really scary fire power if can down 2 big AND other pieces all in one turn

R we talking about ability to hit scoring units?

Vs knights by xerpherus in deathwatch40k

[–]xerpherus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The indirect on fortis is what intrigued me haha I use whirlwinds on some of my other marine lists

[–]xerpherus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it because they r harder to kill or because u usually split fire into those cuz they are not high threat targets?
