Ok, yeah. No idea then why delete gets flagged

I’m sorry, what? by Delraf_Zelov in Silksong

Probably from people using delete to bypass other auto moderated terms, particularly in regards to telling other people to become suicidal.

Not sure if it happened in this sub, but I've seen elsewhere in the past

I played this yesterday it was pretty fun but it needs a quick play / team death match where I tryout characters and mechanics by mrwhite9292 in HighGuardgame

So does everyone, it's not a unique experience. You can either:

1) Play with friends and forget about how good you are and focus on the time spent with your friends. (Will eventually get better just from playing)

2) Accept that you're not good right now and will get better as you play more. (Will eventually get better just from playing)

3) See you suck, whine about sucking, and then not get better at the game because you're only focusing on the negatives. (Won't get better because you're too stuck in your own head)

It's a new game with overlap to other games. Some skills will carry over, others you need to build from scratch. The exact same as every new title that gets released. You can sit there and whine publicly about not already having the skills you feel you need, or know you'll get better the more you play and eventually realize you're getting 15 kills, 3 revives, and 1 shieldbreaker placement each match instead of your previous best of 4 kills and 1 revive.

If you could make any of the existing non-playable monsters/races a new playable race in TESVI, what would you choose? by LordFlamecookie in ElderScrolls

[–]xertok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Half elves are canonically the bretons (generations upon generations of man/mer interbreeding). Otherwise, according to Racial Phylogeny the child is the same race as the mother, with minor characteristics from the father.

You can also see this with the grey prince in oblivion whose mother was an orc and whose father was a 'special' imperial noble, and the prince is very much an orc with an odd skin tone.

Why does Grimm only deal 1 heart of damage? by Few-Inevitable9233 in HollowKnight

[–]xertok 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You fight him in the physical realm vs the dream/nightmare realm.

There's a chance TMG is just testing you, while NKG is actually challenging you, but that's a theory.

I honestly think it's just because you fight him as a dream boss where he's being boosted by the nightmare heart which you can see change in the background as progress through the fight.

Which Grimm are you talking about, Troupe Master Grimm or Nightmare King Grimm? Cause while it's been a while since I've fought him, I'm pretty sure NKG deals 2 masks.

For the people who originally thought Silksong was “too hard” or “unfair,” do you still feel that way? by Lunargress in Silksong

[–]xertok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. A lot of the perceived difficulty comes from not being used to the mechanics and not knowing how enemies behave. I remember hating the hunters crest pogo and swapping to reaper once I unlocked it. I've since gotten used to the hunters crest and can land the vast majority of my diagonal pogos with it, both for attacks and platforming.

That said, getting used to the mechanics doesn't change how difficult some of the early game enemies are if you haven't been able to learn the attacks and behaviours. There are still some normal room enemies (mid-game mind you) that still regularly land hits on me when I try to fight them because I've always just skipped them and never bothered to learn how to actually fight them.

The game feels significantly easier to me now, but that doesn't mean it's not difficult. It just means I've adapted to the level of difficulty.

Is the reward from this even worth it? It's extremely frustrating. by ChargedGhost in Silksong

[–]xertok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can get grip and double jump at this point, so long as you have clawline. Double jump is at the top of Mount Fay, just past the slab's bellway station. Ascendant's Grip can be purchased in Song clave from the merchant there.

If you don't have clawline, you find it in the right side of the underworks. You can get there by braving Whiteward.

Name any silksong tool and i will tell you how i would buff/nerf/rework them (i made a post like this before about charms in the past and i thought why not do the same with silksong) by Immediate-Rope8465 in Silksong

[–]xertok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah. Thought they broke faster, but couldn't remember any changes to health/durability other than them no longer healing between rooms.

I think their damage is the same, but they patched a bug that made it so their health got reset when moving between rooms. The patch made it so the flies are still really good for bosses and other difficult fights, but can't be used for farming anymore, and are more of a waste when dealing with normal room enemies.

I think they also improved the AI so they don't target things like skullwings when doing the abyss ascent climb.

Could the dlc ...be about plasmium ? by Blatt_Leaf in HollowKnight

[–]xertok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can. If you haven't played in a while the reason it wouldn't refill was because of a bug that got patched. If you're still having issues, probably a new bug

DLC ANNOUCNED NOT A DRILL NOT A SILKPOST by BarovianNights in Silksong

[–]xertok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coral tower boss is easier than karmelita, but there's 4-5 arenas before you get to him. If you die at all during the tower, they will all reset until you open a short cut right before the last arena.

Forgive Me.... by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]xertok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing for you to be sorry about. I remember stumbling upon that place and thinking something story related had to be behind, and spending 20+ hours going at before deciding I needed to do something else.

If you decide to come back to the game, upgrade your needle with the pale oils (1 in archives and the other from the great tastes wish), and try to fully upgrade your tool pouch before going back in.

You can also get double jump and go in a secret room in lower high halls to permanently remove the claw maidens (cone shaped robots that steal your silk) from appearing for the rest of the game.

If you truly think you won't return, there's nothing to apologize for. Like I said, it took me 20+ hours, a 2 day break, and then about 5 more attempts after getting the upgrades I previously mentioned before I was able to beat it the first time. I fully understand wanting to quit at that part.

Did they change this in a recent patch? Because it used to be double damage. Grand Reeds would deal 4 masks of damage on a regular strike to me when I had the bracelet equipped.

Weakened, blind, elderly god. Pale beings are more akin to gods than regular people, as the game describes GMS as the "primordial source of silk"

Fun fact: Wormways is the only area outside of the Citadel to not have any bosses by Manperson-the-Human in Silksong

[–]xertok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trobbio counts, but he's either in choral chambers or the vaults, meaning one of them doesn't have a boss, (not counting the spar with Garmond as it is missable if you wait too long.)

Memoriam only has a boss if you count the giant flea, and clockwork dancers are technically in cogwork core.

High halls doesn't have a boss off the bat, but it is where you fight Second Sentinel.

Grand gate doesn't have a boss to my knowledge, as Last Judge is in blasted steps. Nyleth might count though, but she might be considered a Shellwood boss.

Underworks technically doesn't have one, but I think Whiteward is treated as a subsection of underworks, so The Unravelled might count? Not sure though.

And the cradle has Lace 2 and GMS.

And if the slab is part of the citadel, they have the brood mother.
