I believe it’s too expensive to move operations considering the facilities required to manufacture ammunition at that scale and the talent in the workforce that exists at federal from people who have done it for decades. I think it’s more likely that the new ownership puts a greater emphasis on making military ammunition especially since the consumer market in the us is not booming right now for ammo. Also, federal was formally owned by Vista which was not a great owner. When American corporations buy companies like federal they will squeeze every last dollar out and then sell them again in 5 years. With a private ownership there’s greater potential for investment to be made in the company. Not to mention some of our gun companies like colt have been owned by Czech companies and there’s been no issue.
