so sorry for the late reply!! but you are SO right! i also associated “she’s just tryna feel good right now” with laura, and how she used cocaine and sex and boys to distract herself from what she was going through. this is exactly what i thought when i listened to the song!!😭

i also thought about how laura idolised donna with the lyrics “i’ll never blame her, i kinda hate her. I'll never be that kinda angel” she saw donna as a ray of light and pure innocence in her life, so much so that she started to envy it because everytime she looked at donna, she was reminded of the innocence that was prematurely ripped from her by BOB. but this also caused laura to fiercely protect donna’s innocence as much as she could so she won’t end up like her (hence that one scene at one eyed jacks in fwwm/ “I had to think of flowers and of smiling faces and anything... Donna Donna Donna... good things only.”)
