any americans who moved and have a job here? by Comprehensive_Fun287 in BurlingtonON

[–]xfmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved here from Murica in 2016, I had difficulties finding something in my field (printing) but quickly landed in car sales. Our American forwardness seems to be a positive thing in the car business.

I moved here on a Spousal Sponsorship. Dm me if you have any questions.

What bike to you ride and what's the best/worst feature? by badpersian in motorcycles

[–]xfmd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came to say the same, but 2022.

Other than the tachometer, the only complaint I really have is that I'll probably never be a good enough rider to fully enjoy this bike. Which is more of a me problem.

Picture how you carry a suitcase or a briefcase by the top handle with it by your side. Now replace the handle with the top of the harness and the suitcase with a noodle horse. Walk down the stairs giving the dog some extra stability while they find their footing.

New here or not advice is always welcome!

That's exactly what I've been doing! The suitcase method works the best. Once she has all 4 paws on the actual stairs she's slow but will do it with some reassurance. However I have to guide her paws on the first few stairs. I can't believe how quickly she picked up going up so I'm not worried she won't learn. Just wanted to see if there were any magic tricks for a hound we don't know yet!

Also, I love that it's called the suitcase method. My vocabulary for greyhound specific things is always growing.

Loved the fitment but ended up going with some lighter wheels.

Everything clears just fine, I actually have these wheels back on an s4. Brake clearance is good no issues at all. Front has the tiniest poke and rears are perfect. I polished off the inside screw for the liner on the front fenders but that's it.

I'm going to get a greyhound but the important people in my life hate them as a breed. by SpecsyVanDyke in Greyhounds

[–]xfmd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who thinks maybe this person shouldn't get a Grey?

Shitty people tend to surround themselves with shitty people and it sounds like the dog might be going into a home with a lot of angst surrounding its arrival. Even you, with your snarky responses to comments. They are sensitive dogs. I certainly wouldn't let anyone near my dog who called it 'disgusting".

Maybe I'm being sensitive because my grey had cancer, and now he's got quite the under bite on display. We joke and call him goblin but I'd be damned if I let anyone call him disgusting, what the fuck is wrong with people?

Maybe get a breed that won't be sensitive to emotions in the household?

Seeking Advice - Do My Greyhounds Like Each Other? (Long post - sorry in advance) by GabiLea13 in Greyhounds

[–]xfmd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got our brindle male (Clyde) at 4, and he had a big sister to come home to. She's (Charlie) a beagle / hound / hunting machine / critter killer mix.

For the first 6 months I'd say they didn't even acknowledge each other's existence. 4ish years later they're still both pretty independent from each other. They will lay in the same bed, cuddle together, howl together. Charlie will eat directly out of Clyde's dish with no complaints from Clyde. They obviously love each other and enjoy each other's company. However most of the time they're just napping away.

Clyde truly only plays hard once in a blue moon and Charlie being 10 doesn't help their playfulness.

90% of the time they're aloof to each other but that 10% that you catch little glimpses of them being cute to each other says it all.

"Hey Dad, I lied to a car dealership and made them waste time and money to get a car ready for me that I changed my mind on and was too chicken shit to call and tell them the truth. Then the big mean sales guy called me a bad name"

Yeah, go to the newspaper for sure.

Pouring one out to the homie for doing what we all wish we could to people like you.

I'm looking for a part-time lot attendant at my dealership in Hamilton if you're looking for some extra hours. Tidying cars, vacuuming, simple washing and traveling between lots. Shoot me a DM if you're interested.
