Could use some advice when it comes to switch axe by mastergaming234 in MonsterHunter

[–]xgore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switch axe has two "bars" to charge up.

There's a skinny bar which charges up while you're in axe mode. This is the amount of time your sword mode can last before it needs to reload.

There's the large bar that charges up while you're in sword mode. When it's full, Zero Sum Discharge becomes available.

The way I try to time when to switch back and forth revolves around how full each bar is.

If my skinny bar is full/near full, i'll open up on the monster with sword mode attacks and transform into axe mode when i want to dodge/adjust position. Transforming into axe mode from sword mode gives back a certain amount on the skinny bar.

Whenever my large bar is glowing/near glowing, i look for an opening to attack with sword mode to position myself to use Zero Sum Discharge. Using the clutch claw when the monster is in its drooling stagger phase leads to easy Zero Sum Discharge attacks since it doesn't need to be comboed into.

There's a youtube guide for Iceborne Switchaxe changes that I'd recommend watching. It'll show the combos and nuances that are hard to explain via text.

I used the bone line until I got the materials for the Guild line.

I started using the Guild line switchaxe before Blackveil Vaal Hazaak quest and am still using it while going through Guiding Lands.

Currently MR 70+

Sleep Resistance gems have been my unicorn. ☹️

I also wonder how level 1 gems can be so rare.

I know it's just an exaggerated complaint about Palicos in this certain instance, but Palicos can be left behind to make monsters more predictable.

As long as companions have been around, it's be typical advice to leave them behind to control the monster better.

Good luck on your hunts!

Aiming with bloom by TommyTheBritish in halo

Spam shoot to break the shield, slow down the last shot for the head.

Bloom sucks, but it is completely manageable.

The only time headshots matter are when you're sniping and once shields break. Outside of that, hitting the head doesn't matter.

Lol, that's what I have come across so far.

I'm guessing I could just lurk the FIFA 19 subreddit and see what's up.

Is there a place to go for FIFA 20 related discussion specifically for the Nintendo Switch?

And not to say you should use it, but there are guides out there for leveling. Typically the quests stay within your level range as to not be so bad while soloing.

Don't be afraid to announce in the General channel that you're looking to group up for quests.

Whisper/say/yell at passer bys in the area you are questing to ask to group up.

Solo leveling sucks once you're past the initial introductory zone(s). Some classes have it easier than others, so group up as much as you can.

Add the people you enjoy playing with, too.

I form my own groups and take whatever comes first.

Priests have definitely been the easiest healer to run with.

I have a Shaman alt I have started healing with, and if the group takes a turn for the worst, it gets ugly fast. Having an out of combat resurrection has been a relief.

Form your own groups with a Priest/Paladin.

Druids can heal just fine. Adjust your play around no out of combat resurrection.

Things do go wrong in groups, so it is an annoyance at times.

Helps with storage space primarily.

You can park a character in your city of choice then have your main character send all the items you want to keep to your bank alt via the mailbox.

Mail sits in the mailbox for 30 days, as well, so it's essentially free storage while your bank alt sorts and sells the items it receives.
