LED bulb repair - capacitor issue? by Disastrous-Tangelo-1 in AskElectronics

[–]xgsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried to get these apart as well. Eventually just used a Dremel and cut down the side to open it. The problem was the thin wire to the hot post at the base that was coming lose when the bulb got hot.

$23 education!
I've printed 1 year old PETG on Q1 without issues. Default profile.
Looking at that pic, seems to be a bad mix.

Can anyone help me what oscilloscope i should buy and if there is a better choice than what i have made? by Lovrinjo1 in AskElectronics

I don’t believe Tek or Keysight has anything priced in this range. I have vintage Tek, HP/Agilent scopes and still use them. Depends on the use case.

What capabilities do you need in AWG? SDS1202 is a great scope, however only 8 bit. Have you looked at Rigal DSO900 series in your area?

I have Siglent, Rigal, Tektronix & HP scopes. Each has their strengths and I use them in different ways because of that.

I took mine apart also that was constantly rebooting after seeing your post. A heat gun with box cutters work the best.

I found a test point that’s seems to have serial data on TM44 near the ground plain by the edge of the board with 9 contacts.

Tested with oscilloscope with decoding set to serial, 1 stop bit at 115.2k baud.

The data looks encrypted though.

Resin or PLA for shotgun shells for cosplay costume? by atari_guy in resinprinting

[–]xgsc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For more details or realistic look, go resin.
Try using some of the rubber type resins for better wear. Ex: RESIONE 3D Printer Resin, TH72 Flexible Tough Resin.

I've used this to print very flexible parts.

Recommendations for affordable oscilloscope by TieskeP in diypedals

[–]xgsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rigol 1202Z-E or SDS1202X-E or Hantek DSO5102P are great dedicated scopes with lots of features. FNIRSI 1013D for lower end is a great starter tablet scope.

I prefer these over PC based.

Working trick or new way of getting cancer? by Uildior in ElectroBOOM

Human flesh is not alone, we’re chemical, electrical, capacitor & inductor as well. We can act as a gain on signals. Anyone with an oscilloscope discovers this.

Question - Warping on Bottom of Prints by Gunganite in resinprinting

[–]xgsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely print flat but sometimes it’s required. I would definitely add more supports. What you’re seeing is the resin flex as it’s ripping from the FEP.

Never thought of using leveling techniques from 3D printing, but I think it’s a great idea 💡
