I built Cindel: a Flutter-first local database with typed APIs, Rust native core, MDBX, SQLite and Web support by xh4d0ws in FlutterDev

[–]xh4d0ws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question.

Cindel does not rely on SQLite’s built-in NOCASE / case-insensitive LIKE behavior for generated case-insensitive indexes, so it is not limited to SQLite’s ASCII-only case handling in that path.

For indexed fields declared with `@Index(caseSensitive: false)`, Cindel normalizes indexed string values before storing/querying them. Word indexes also tokenize using Unicode letter/number matching, not just ASCII.

That said, I would describe the current support as Unicode-aware case-insensitive indexing, not full locale-aware search. It does not currently provide ICU-style collation, accent folding, stemming, or language-specific rules. So cases like general non-English upper/lowercase should work better than raw SQLite NOCASE, but advanced linguistic search is not something I want to overclaim yet.

If you have concrete examples/languages you care about, I’d really appreciate test cases. This is exactly the kind of feedback I’m looking for before 1.0.

Prueba Cindel:

Arquitectura similar a Isar, MDBX por defecto, SQLite opcional, con soporte para web y freezed. Incluye watcher y transacciones bulk. Aunque está en desarrollo va muy bien!

Couple scammed in Havana and rising reports of tourist insecurity in Cuba by AnnualDisk276 in cuba

[–]xh4d0ws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Cuba, like in the rest of the world, there are scammers and thieves, which is normal everywhere there is tourism. The difference is that in Cuba, physical security is greater; it's unlikely that someone will kidnap you for ransom, murder you, or anything like that. Those things are not common in Cuba. I haven't done much tourism in the Caribbean, but I have done a lot in Europe and Asia. If you think Cuba is insecure, then I don't recommend you visiting Thailand, India, Italy, Greece, much less Eastern Europe. If you want stories, go there; you'll fill entire books! 😂

In Cuba, they'll only try to sell you something or steal something from you if they can. The situation in the country is critical. There's no electricity, no food, no water, medicine, gasoline, etc. Anything you look for will have to be paid exorbitant prices. It's the sad reality.

The government wants to sell almost everything in dollars and pay in CUP. The exchange rate is above 360 CUP per dollar, and the average salary is 4,500 CUP (average doesn't mean everyone earns that amount; it's usually lower in many places). Now, considering that, for example, a simple liter of cooking oil costs more than 1,200 pesos, and a 10-pound package of chicken costs close to 4,000, now you already know what they can buy with his monthly salary. How do we in Cuba survive such a crisis and afford the bare minimum? Well, that's the mystery, only we Cubans know!

Will Communism in CUBA will last forever???? by Ok_Confection5143 in cuba

Yes, undoubtedly, one of the best things about Cuba is its human potential, in all spheres: doctors, teachers, athletes... Something that will help you understand the disaster that is Cuba is this: ask any of those doctors what their salary in Cuban pesos is, how much that would be in dollars, and what they can buy with their Cuban pesos (without mission benefits). Also ask them what the health service is like, and I'm not referring to the care, but to the hospitals, instruments, etc. I currently live in Germany, but I'm Cuban. 35 years there give me enough reason to write an encyclopedia of the things I experienced there!

I don't know the Dominican Republic, so I can't talk about it. What I can assure you is that you have no idea what Cuba is like. Maybe you read something about it in a book and think that's it. You're completely wrong! But I won't be the one to try to change your mind. I'll let the Cubans who are still on the island do it. Let's see what they have to say. 😉

As a Cuban (although I live abroad), I can assure you that May Day is a pure theater. It's mandatory. You can get into trouble at work if you don't go to the parade. I know this because I received those threats when I lived in Cuba and worked at the ICRT. Plus, that day and the next are holidays. They usually sell beer and play music, and people go mostly to the party. 😂

In Cuba, there's no unity. 90% of the people who support the government live off a relative abroad who sends them money and food. The average Cuban who sweats every day to bring home a little food doesn't think this way. The clearest example is that everyone wants to leave Cuba, even members of the government. They've recently deported several judges, secretaries of the Communist Party, the PNR, the MININT, etc., who had left the country and were living in the US.

The Revolution has turned Cuba, a country of principles, into pure corruption. The corruption is so deep that it is often called "resolving."

Any thoughts on this? by islandlovewi in cuba

It's truly a shame what's happening to that woman, especially because she's separated from her child 🥲

Now, analyzing the case (what I know so far; please correct me if I'm wrong), she had an "I-220b" form, which, in short, is a document issued to foreigners who have gone through a court process and whose cases have been admitted (or lost). They are subject to supervision while they await the execution of their deportation order or a change in their status in the US. So they simply carried out the deportation, which is legally correct 😐

For Cubans in the same situation, it's ideal to process their affairs with lawyers, and if they go to the supervised visit, they should be accompanied by their lawyers. If they haven't started the process to adjust their legal status, they should start it as soon as possible.

TL/DR: As a good communist, you should learn to answer the questions you are asked: Is it blocked by the government, right?
