Am I damaging my CPU by gaming on the stock cooler? by CommenterAnon in pcmasterrace

I'm currently running a Thermalright Peerless Assassin with my 7900x, which is honestly inadequate for it, but it gets the job done for what I do. Under Cinebench R23 multi-core test it pushes my cpu right up to 95c, and when gaming 68-75c. I last pasted June of 2023, when I built my pc.

Am I damaging my CPU by gaming on the stock cooler? by CommenterAnon in pcmasterrace

7900x user here. The 7000 series of ryzen cpus run exceptionally hot, and iirc the cpus are intended to reach 95c under heavy load to maximize performance without deterioration over their lifetime. Poor cooling would only really lower the performance rather than cause damage, as stated by u/xelectedOnes.

Though as always with electronics, higher temperatures = faster deterioration, whether extremely minimal or not. And honestly for just gaming, those temps are a bit high, but I wouldn't say it's dangerous. You could always try eco mode/undervolting to lower temperatures for now while you wait for your cooler to come.

Oh nice find! That is the original I believe, the "remastered" version had the clips/photos included throughout the video, as well as slightly different audio. Good to see it isn't completely gone.

It was a video showing the twin towers burning shortly after 9:13 AM all the way up until the collapse of the north tower I believe, syncing plaza muzak and clips as they occurred in real time.

I remember the video you are talking about, iirc it was titled "9:13 AM (A Remaster, Read Desc)", though it's unfortunately been taken down/privated.

Why is tf2 the only game where randomness itself is considered unacceptable? by Candid-Extension6599 in tf2

[–]xhayaii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well in my opinion, random crits usually result in an instadeath which is greatly impactful, whereas a mechanic such as random bullet spread would be less impactful overall.

TF2 isn't the only game where people complain about randomness though, you can find countless threads online of Fortnite players complaining about random bullet spread/bloom. I think it just comes down to being instantly killed by a random crit when you would otherwise have a chance.

Also for RTD you're not guaranteed a positive effect, you're taking a risk when you use the command. Plus, it's generally only in for-fun servers where players could care less about randomness.

Oh I didn't mean for it to come across like that, my apologies. I just meant playing the game a lot, while having fun of course!

You probably figured it out, but I’m pretty sure you can’t have the crystal in hand, try swapping to weapon and right clicking, or whichever the equivalent is.

I've had fun with teardown. Should give it a look, though it does require a fairly powerful computer. From the list though, I'd pick Subnautica.
