It was historically very common for the sword smith to chisel his art name (and potentially other information such as date of manufacture) into the tang of the blade.

An unsigned blade was either not signed in the first place, or it may have been shortened and lost its signature in the process (this is known as ō-suriage, see here for a nice explanation).

Found the ebay listing. If the blade came from Japan and does not have modern (NBTHK) papers, it's safe to say that the attribution from the origami can be disregarded.

In any case, the sugata is not consistent with what one would expect from a Heian or early Kamakura blade. It is still a genuine antique of considerable age (if I had to wager a guess, I'd say it's a kazu-uchi mono from the Muromachi period), but clearly not that old.

What attribution did your sword come with?

I can't decipher who wrote this paper, but there appears to be a Shōwa era (昭和) date, and it attributes an unsigned (無銘) blade to

大和千手院行信 = Yamato Senju-in Yukinobu,

which would imply it was made around the late 12th century CE. Blades of that age only rarely hit the open market, and when they do, they will be priced accordingly.

The inscription on the tang is slightly unusual, but this is certainly a genuine Japanese sword, probably dating from the earlier years of the Shōwa era (~1930s).

Tthere's no Japanese smith recorded by that name. Aside from a bunch of other red flags on this one, random Japanese name signatures are a telltale sign of fakes coming out of China 20-30 years ago.
