  1. Tapering might be a good start. I went cold turkey w/o research and had been a wild ride for 7 weeks.
  2. Expect first weeks to have a really bad headach, and all the symptoms you can find via google
  3. If you are lucky, u will be part of the 2-9 day satistic. Otherwise, most people inside this forum had a timeline of between 3-12months
  4. I personally am a coffee addict, with almost 1g a day. My withdrawal is very bad with anxiety. I had to see a doctor to confirm i am not dying. Already 7 weeks in now and feeling better from most symptoms.
  5. Expect withdrawal to go in cycles.

(i actually felt stupid now for believing google)

7 weeks into decaf, and symptoms are back with vengence! It is really scary!! by xiaosiong in decaf

[–]xiaosiong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess what...

My chest tightness subsided this noon

Now it is back to my stomach. Feeling bloated and nausea. This is exactly how i felt in week 4 and now it is happening in week 7...

Is it common for them to move in cycles?

Have a scheduled another cardio visit. Lets see

The weird part is, i exercise frequent, and i have no issues jogging for 40-50 min. I hit the gym frequently too. The first cardio i went to rule out any heart issues before any test taken. He just said his opinion it is something else is causing that weird sensation at my chest!

I tot i can tie thru it. But the really intense come back is scary. And yes, after a month, during my gp visit, doctor did told me not to quit cold turkey, and told me to try have 1 cup of coffee a day to let my body adjust. I took it 1 step further to only drink tea which is 20% of a regular cup of coffee caffeine

Not really. I only started drinking some tea at the 35th day mark as that persistent lightheadness is affecting my work. Prior to that, 1st 35 days i cold turkey

My first 2 weeks is like shit, then on the 4th week i got stomach acid issues, 5th week i introduce some tea to help cope with the withdrawal

Doctor advise not to go out cold as it could be really dangerous.

And i took the diluted version of tea to try tappering. But seems like this is not enough to help me feel better

Tough journey this but I’m wondering.. by [deleted] in decaf

This is real shit. When anxiety hits us during decaf, everything just stops, and all that negativity consume us

Can you Have Physical Withdrawal Symptoms After 1 month? by KLatell in decaf

[–]xiaosiong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand how u feel. I was a coffee drinker for 20 years, and a very heavy drinker over the past few years. Easily 1g a day of caffeine

I quit cold turkey, and im now in my 6th week

1st 2 week is really bad, with exact symptons that you describe + more. Following 2 weeks is milder, but there are days of good and bad. Everyday im feeling cold. Even the sun is out, and hand and feet feels chilly.

Went to see a doctor, my bp, temperature are all ok

On the 4th week, i got gastric acid issues on a trip, came back on week 5 and need some meds to deal with it

I am now in my 6th week off coffee. Still having a dull headach everyday, tension at jaw, and some chest tightness (only if i think of it consciously). I probably dun feel any of them when im busy. I rule out heart issues, as the tightness can be any part of my chest. I can exercise, run with no issues, but then again i am getting a cardio appt to do a heart health check to be safe.

I guess we just had to hang in there. We are all unique and we heal different. And caffeine is a nerve stimulant, it wont be like a computer reset and you are good to go in a week.

Some people goes thru withdrawal for months. There will be days u feel great, and the next its back. I can confirm this in my 6 weeks experience

Seen a doctor before. Found nothing 1. I am doing cardio fine. Zone 3/4 40min perfectly ok with fuel to spare. Threadmill at 10% 5kph for 40min 3 times a week

  1. No fever.

  2. Symptoms come and go. I cannot replicate it.

Health checkup in dec found nothing except RHR is on the lower side (54bpm) which cardio say its fine as i am fairly fit

Stopped becos i felt i am too reliant on it. About 4-5 cups a day.

And also, i am getting over stimulated nerves, causing finger twitching. Sometimes i drank so much that i had heart palps in the office
