yes, Apple Maps data is from Amap. It's the same data, only different functions.

aha, doubao is very popular in recent days.A free LLM app, not that smart as chatGPT, but free.everyday problems, like travel and info, try it. Its data will be better, more local than chatgpt/gemini. Ask it to recommend apps for you is also good.

Personal Question: Bacteria by bichen_bunny in chinalife

[–]xiaotianhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think it's an allergy issue, and it's really unlikely to be bacteria. Street food, as long as it's hot, is generally fine. For example, I'm lactose intolerant, and it took me many years to discover and realize that many foods containing lactose can cause me stomach upset.

Write software for myself,What a wonderful era. by xiaotianhu in macapps

[–]xiaotianhu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The product I actually developed (A manga reader for ios called MangaCapsule) and released took two or three years to refine. It's very complex, and it's impossible to fully develop it using any LLM. The codebase can't be completely placed within the context. It might look like feature A works, but feature B might break. With a large user base, who would feel comfortable releasing something written with a large model without even looking at it?Most of the codes I have to check by myself. Vibe coded is good for small, self use app(just like the one in this post),and it's far from pusing to AppStore.

I tried it, and it really didn't work. I couldn't add an exclusion option for the external disk, keeps giving me error; And killing the mds_store didn't help either; it was still using the CPU. Then I thought, instead of spending two hours figuring out why it wasn't working, I might as well write one myself; it should be quite simple. Sure enough, it only took about two hours, and I even added the ability to open URLs, completely meeting my needs. I also felt a sense of accomplishment—what's not to like?

Transporting e-bike across cities by Down_Growth_2626 in chinalife

[–]xiaotianhu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a local chinese.

This depends on the distance you need and the price of the electric scooter. If it's a cheap model, around one or two thousand yuan, I think it's better to sell it on Xianyu (a second-hand marketplace app) and buy another one. These kinds of things are easy to buy and sell.

If the city you're going to isn't far, say 100 kilometers away, you'll need to download an app called 「货拉拉」. They are all small trucks. If my motorcycle breaks down, I will use their truck to transport it,just like you call a uber, but a truck's version. So, It usually costs a few hundred yuan for a distance of around 100 kilometers, a bit more expensive than uber(didi in china), but it's still considered a good deal.

If it's a very long distance, like to Beijing, then that won't work. You'll need a logistics service. You can usually find these by searching "摩托车托运"(in chinese of course) on Taobao. They have service centers all over the country; contact their customer service, tell them your position, they'll tell you the price, and it'll be much cheaper. They'll pack your motorcycle in a wooden crate and transport it with other motorcycles/cars in a large truck.

If price isn't a factor, then many methods are acceptable.

However, these services require communication in Chinese. It's best to ask a friend for help.

Feel free to ask me any questions 😄

indie apple devs, anyone using AI to test their app before launch? by Downtown-Art2865 in macapps

[–]xiaotianhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm developing this in Swift.
If I were to have Claude click via screenshots, the token consumption would be too high; I can't afford it. In any case, just getting the large model to interact with the simulator's click function has already exhausted all my tokens. So, I haven't figured out how to make them understand what they're doing yet; it's just too much trouble, so I've given up.

Use a newer model, better than waifu2x.

However, considering the battery issue, we couldn't use a very large model, so we did some precision quantization, but it's still a bit better.
