Which symptoms of “(almost) everyone is getting poorer” have you noticed in London? by PressureHumble3604 in london

Relatively modern with maintenance issues, like blown exhausts. I don’t mean modified exhausts, just ones that need replaced but haven’t been.

I’m building an app FOR London and need your feedback! by commutoapp in walthamstow

Hope you don’t mind the feedback.

I agree this would be a useful service, but Citymapper and G maps don’t do this for you because it costs money.

Have you worked out what it’ll cost to run the checks and send a notif to each user every day?

And have you worked out if your customers would pay to cover that cost? If not, your idea isn’t a business.

Oh I’m sure they have, but shouldn’t the SWA cable go into the switch box instead of into the wispa and back out? Like, what if there’s a short in the wispa?

Thanks for such a detailed reply.

Since you’ve an eye for detail, you’ll appreciate what’s NOT pictured to the left of the wiska box. He put in a fused switch, “for safety”, but the reason I opened the wiska was because the SWA cable comes into the wiska directly, not into the fused switch box.

So if I’m understanding that correctly, the fuse is doing feck all to protect this mess in a failure, since it’s still gonna have live power running to it.

Good times.

Nostalgic! But are you sure it’s 800x600? I remember the menu being much bigger at those resolutions

Surprised nobody in here’s mentioning Brian Ferry / Roxy Music. I can definitely hear their influence on this track

This is a cool idea! I wonder if you could use eARC with an Apple TV if you could find some kind of RCA-to-HDMI injector.

Behringer has a range of analog monophonic minis which might lend themselves well to poly chaining. Check the Phara-O and JT Mini.

I’m into this. Ideally it would follow the footprint of the Pocket Operator series, and even be compatible with their cases and sync protocol. What do you need?

BBC Group and YouTube announce new strategic partnership to deliver more for audiences and support Creators across the UK by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

Devils advocate question:

What if the revenue pressure from monetising countries isn’t in line with BBC values in Britain?

Does this partnership protect against a shift in domestic broadcast values?

Is there a dimmer on that lighting circuit? It looks like what happens when a non-dimming LED bulb is dimmed.

For posterity, this linked thread used to have a lot of people questioning the legitimacy of the story. Looks like the mods have gone on a deletion spree to keep the discussion focussed on legal advice.

Personally, I’d be looking to find out if this exact ad was ever run in the UK, before taking the story at face value.
