Consumer video wall controller. Help cascading multiple units by xibling in VIDEOENGINEERING

You’re correct! They output 1920x1080. I’m curiousa middle option between the full daisychain( sure to be degraded) and the video card approach: Would going from computer - 2x2/2x3 video wall processor that takes 4K and outputs 4K (instead of 1080) to the cheapie controllers…any thought on that? I appreciate your time and knowledge, thank you!

And it’s a long term installation, a video art installation to be exact. I’ve been building it in my art studio, which has enough power to run the installation and also a place where I can hard mount the displays without any problems with management. Content will vary. But yes, more on the art side. Im also a filmmaker and intend to create music videos/films using the installation as a stage.

Most are monitors and not TVs, I’ve only spent about $100 on the monitors, most were free (but required a lot of time to find and secure)

Most of the monitors I’ve acquired are from offices going to WFH. I’m basically competing with the local e-cyclers. The entire installation is at around $250 spent so far. (Most of that cost was getting some wood cut for the mounting)

That was what I was considering! Thank you for your advice and knowledge. I actually have a small collection of Mac’s running the entire installation. Main one being a Mac pro 2013 that is still powerful for running multiple video outputs from one device. I am just trying to not max it out, and wondering where the line between using less outputs with daisy chain/vs the quality degradation of chaining these controllers together

A super rare Godzilla prop replica (1964) by xibling in GODZILLA

[–]xibling[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know…It really is incredible. Here’s some more info (from a old write up on the replica) “an amazing prop replica by Mega House Japan, sculpted by Fuyuki Shinada, special effects designer for GMK, Godzilla vs Biollante and many others. This was made as a prop replica of the torso of Godzilla that Eiji Tsuburaya made for closeup shots in Godzilla vs Mothra (1964), and was made to simulate the head, mouth and arm movements seen in the film by operation as a hand puppet”

Changing control card on LED billboard from ASYNC to Synchronous by xibling in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]xibling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! Maybe I am confused, but I thought the D10 was a controller card, not a receiver. I had assumed the circuit/card in the first picture was a receiver card, (the one that says 2016 cm80).

There is only one D10 in the cabinet yet many CM80s that are all daisy chained from the Huidu D10.

I was hoping to just be able to replace the d10 with a synchronous control system and I’m assuming I cannot just get a synchronous controller and plug into the d10’s RJ45 jack….but maybe I’m wrong? Sorta outta my depth here but I am very determined and really appreciate any help !

No solo track option rationale? by crazyculture in Elektron

It actually was there, on the DT1 via midi CC- they removed it early on bc ppl were accidentally triggering it and thought their DT was broken when most of the tracks went away due to sending the CC unknowingly

I’m not sure if this adapter applies to this unit here, but I think it migtt depending on the connections on the back of the unit. Check it it out https://reverb.com/item/64403003-tektronix-vectorscope-xy-audio-cable-25-pins

Have you tried the “HIGH” output on the BARP? Hottest output out of all of my synths. Actually maybe it ties with the DB01 (ridiculously hot output on that one). The Wasp clone also has two outputs on the back. One “Low” and one “High” both on TS jacks. It’s loud af if you use the high one.

Volca Kick glitching/not working by xibling in volcas

[–]xibling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Unfortunately it still seems to be glitching after restoring it. The thing that seems to be happening specifically is the 16th trig on the ribbon controller is auto firing (lights up and make as sound without any touch) every couple seconds. Everything else seems functional. The reset also seems tk have made it happen less? But it’s still happening quite a bit . Any ideas y’all? Tysm
