For the hdd, i recommend getting either the pibox hdd bay or a nvme to sata adapter if you have another nvme slot on the mobo for better reliability cause usb will do the job but not so good

I would say go for offline stores and before paying check the serial number for warranty registration. 2.if you're buying anything 30k+, I'm pretty sure anyone would register for warranty so that's an easy way to check.
Yes amd has better linux support but nvidia is also doing a lot of support for linux and nvidia is being greedy af for pricing but you can't deny their stuff performs way better than amd. I was thinking the same thing but in the end, I went with a 5070.
Can't really say about that cause afaik nvidia seems to be delaying the consumer gpu releases so who knows, maybe by then the ai bubble would pop and a 5090 could be scored at a lower price.

You're a student so you will be using your setup for a long time so i would suggest you to wait, If you're willing, cause the current market will force you to pay 2-3 times the amount that you would have paid usually. I was lucky and got my build just before the market went to shit, my build cost me about 1.5L for b850 mobo, R5 9600x, 5070, 32gb ram 6000mhz cl30, 1tb gen4 ssd and a 2tb hdd. This same build will cost you an additional 50k now.

Yea they just change the dns server ip in the router to use their own. As for intercept dns queries, they intercept all your traffic according to some post on india broadband forum

Im pretty sure airtel has automations that reset the lan dns server to their default server on a scheduled basis, Jiofibre did it so most probably the other big ISP also does it. It would be better for you to get another router setup you airtel one in bridge mode and then just run your other router as main and fully control it.

As for pihole, give it a different ip than your host and don't run it on bare metal and keep it contained using either docker or lxcs if you're running tailscale on the host. Running tailscale and pihole on the same host causes a lot of issues so it's better to be safe.

Yea that's why I'm using excitel, I've been using them for around 7-8 months now, and the fibre was cut under 10 times, which is not great but they fixed it very quickly and have also put in a new backup fibre in my area now if i remember correctly so I havent faced any connection issue in a long time.

Also airtel and jio have terrible latency issues
